Ana's Pov…

"What is your condition, sweetheart?" He asked, sipping his wine sluggishly.

As I was about to speak, he cut in. "You know what, your terms and conditions are not necessary, you're asking for a divorce, not me." He said and raised his glass in the air and whispered"cheers'', along with a smile of victory.

I blinked twice to avoid his gaze and turned my attention to what I started earlier. It mystifies me how he got that portrait of me in a gown. "And why is he keeping it in his room?" I thought.

"How did you end up with that?" I asked.

"What? The portrait of you? Come on wife, that shouldn't be a question." He replied coldly, walking to his bed.

"Good night," I said, turning to leave but his words stopped me.

"Spend the night with me, wife? Are you perhaps fearful I might try misbehaving with you? I am sober, well at least for tonight. You have nothing to fear. "

"Will you take me to see my family if I accept?" I asked, feeling defeated and defenseless.
