After the doctor’s updated us about the completion and succession of Sarah’s first phase, I asked Will to take me home so I could nap. I found it hard some days to not take at least 30 minutes if not an hour during my day to relax and sleep. I was guessing it was all about my body doing so much extra work for the baby. Will explained to his dad that I rode with him this morning, and Glenn pretty much pushed us out of the door and told us to go eat and get some sleep. He was going to go do the same. I wash just washing my hair as Will stepped into the shower behind me. He wrapped his arms around my pregnant belly and kissed my shoulder. I couldn’t believe how madly in love I was with this man after only a short few months. I grabbed his arms with my arms and held on tight. This feeling was one I wanted to soak up. I’ve never felt so loved and so safe in someone’s arms. Soapy hair and all, I turned around to face Will. His eyes were gleaming with happiness and love. I wanted to stay in that shower all day. I woke up groggy in a hospital bed. “Wait. I thought I was here for Sarah..” I thought to myself. I looked at myself. I was in a gown. I had an IV in one arm and a blood pressure cuff on the other. Will was sitting on one side of my bed… and Jared on the other. “Wait. Did I just see Jared. No. It can’t be.” I was still thinking to myself. “The baby. Oh no.” That’s when the monitor started beeping and both men realized I was awake. Jared yelled for a nurse. “Becca, calm down. Everything is okay.” Will’s words alleviated some of my stress. He grabbed my hand and gently touched my face, trying to comfort me. Jared had found a nurse and they came into the room. “Alright honey. The doctor will stop in in a little bit to explain more in detail, but you have high blood pressure. Will and I both woke up to the sound of his phone ringing. It was Glenn. “Will, are you coming back to the hospital? Sarah is really hoping that you will help her with her session today.” I could hear him say through the phone. “Also, have you talked to Becca? I haven’t heard anything and wanted to make sure she was okay.” Will grinned. “She’s right here dad. She’s doing fine.” “I’m sorry. Did I wake you guys?”“No worries Dad. Will and I did not waste any time. The next morning we started going to open houses in the area. Considering my hefty inheritance, we really didn’t need to be approved for a mortgage. Will obviously had a lot of money saved from working and he had a trust his dad had given him when he turned 25, which he didn’t touch at all yet. So we could look at anything we wanted. I wanted a three bedroom but Will wanted something bigger. He never said it out loud, but I could tell that he wanted kids… a few at least. The next morning I realized Will had never stopped in after he was down at the hospital. I looked at my phone, but there weren’t any messages. I felt a thousand times better this morning. Considering all the things that have happened in my life, I still consider myself a pretty lucky person. At this very moment though, I was questioning whether I truly believed this.
