Chapter 16

I followed Will to a restaurant of his choosing. I was actually relieved when it was just a pizza joint. Nothing fancy or over the top. It was more of a mom and pop shop. I met him at the door, which he held open for me to go in first. I looked around. It must be seat yourself. So I picked a booth in the corner.

“So you’re a booth person over a table person. I’ll remember that.” Will chipped in before sitting down across the table from me.

Before I could get my first question in, a waitress came over to the table.

“Will, is that you? I was expecting you and your dad tonight. Will he be joining?”

“No Lucy. He’s working late tonight.” She looked over at me and gave a welcoming smile.

“My name is Lucy and Will here and his father are two of my long standing customers. I usually see them every other week.” I looked at Will as he sheepishly smiled.

“What can I get you to drink honey?”
