THE STRANGE COLD AIR

"What's wrong, Grandma?" asked Leora in a choked voice. Eleanor's eyes closed as she spread her hands together. Then she twisted her hands up quickly and put her palms together. She carried her palms to the front of her chest, then it looked like she was pushing something heavily.

Her lips twitched and her eyes opened. Her gaze was sharp only to one point. Leora just kept quiet looking at it. A chill ambushed him. Leora immediately sat cross-legged, clasping her palms together on her chest, just like her grandmother did.  At least that's what her grandmother had been teaching her to do if she felt an unnatural chill.

Slowly the chill disappeared. Eleanor opened her eyes and looked at Leora with some worries.

"Are you okay, Honey?" she asked with full of searching. Leora shooked her head and smiled.

"I'm okay, Grandma," she replied. Eleanor also returned her granddaughter's smile with relief. She  reached her coffee cup then.

"What happened exactly, Grandma?" asked Leora curiously.

"I don't know. Something are trying to get in here. I don't know what it is," Eleanor replied.

"Really? What is it, Grandma? Is it something danger for us?" asked Leora barragely. Eleanor laughed at that.

"Oh no. Why you laughed like that," Leora said irritably.

"Grandma doesn't know yet either, Leora Baby," Eleanor said softly.

"Hopefully it won't be a dangerous thing," she continued and standing up from the chair.

"We'd better just go in. Inside the house it will be safer for us," said her grandmother as she walked into the house. Leora nodded and immediately followed Eleanor into the house.

Meanwhile Elmer stood on a roof of the tallest house in that residential area. He looked at that girl and her grandmother walked into the house. A smile appeared on his cold face.

"Is it true that she is the girl I have been waiting for?" he asked silently in his heart with anxiety.

"Why should it be that girl?" he muttered irritably. Elmer then flashed away from there quickly.

At the same time, Eleanor, who was walking behind Leora, had seen a black shadow up there. She was silent and stared intently. But the shadow was too fast for her eyes. Leora's grandmother could only squeal in annoyance as she continued to walk in following her granddaughter.

"What's going on in your college today, Leora Darling?" asked Eleanor as she sat her body on the couch in front of the television.

"Nothing special happen.  Just an ordinary lessons as usual, Grandma," Leora replied.

"Ah ya. There was a strange lecturer," she continued. Eleanor looked at her granddaughter curiously.

"What's that weird?" she asked.

"Yes, it's just weird, Grandma. He was an annoying guy," Leora slurped furiously. Eleanor smiled at this.

"Since yesterday, I always got unlucky when I took his classes. Hm, what a bad luck," Leora muttered.

Eleanor just smiled in hearing Leora’s story. She almost tell the same story about her school everyday.

"How is your relationship with Sean? Why didn't he come here?" his grandmother asked again. Leora smiled at the question. Sean was sometimes look closer to her grandmother than to her as his lover. Perhaps it was because he had never felt the affection of a grandmother. Meanwhile, Eleanor only has a granddaughter. So their meeting was very pleasant for both of them.

"Grandma," Leora called softly.

"Yes, what's the matter?" replied Eleanor, turning to look at the girl.

"I felt a strange chill just now," Leora said.

"Really?" asked Eleanor, looking sharply at Leora's eyes. Leora nodded her head.

"Right," she replied.

"That’s why I sat cross-legged to drive the chill air away," Leora continued. Eleanor nodded her head slowly.

"Grandma also saw a black shadow up there," Eleanor said softly. Leora gasped at that.

"What is that, Grandma?" she asked curiously.

"Is it something that harms us?" she asked again.

"I don't know. Grandma still doesn't know for sure, Honey," Eleanor replied.

Eleanor sorted out the rest of their dinner. Leora helped him.

"Don't forget to close the window of your bed room, Honey," Eleanor exclaimed as Leora said goodbye and go for having a rest in her room.

"Yes, Grandma," she said when she ran up the wooden staircase leading to her room. Eleanor just smiled at Leora's behavior, which sometime was still acting like a child.

Eleanor immediately closed all the doors and windows before she finally lay herself on her bed. Because she was too tired all day of activities, Eleanor fell asleep as soon as she closed her eyes.

Unlike Leora,  she actually couldn't fall asleep. The cold that he had felt just now turned into a sultry one. Leora also opened the window of her room. A fresh breeze then entered her room. Leora smiled and sat down at her desk next to the window.

Leora began to open her book. She  worked on some tasks that should be collected tomorrow morning. The time was running fast. Leora, who had just finished the task, then rushed to tidy up her table.

"Strange, why is it so steamy tonight?" she muttered as she lays herself on the bed. She glanced at the window that was still open.

"I'll just close it later when I want to go to bed," she said silently in her heart. She  started to check her phone and replied some chatting there. Leora was too engrossed in surfing the social media until she finally felt sleepy and fell asleep without remembering to close the door.

The night breeze that came into her room added to the weather getting colder. Leora was getting late in her sleep. Instead of waking up to close the window as her grandmother had reminded her, but Leora even tightening her warm blanket.

A black shadow flew up and came in through the open window. In a moment the shadow had been standing in the middle of the window of Leora's room. A man who dressed in black seemed to walk into Leora's room.

The straight-haired and high-nosed man walked slowly closer to Leora's  desk. Elmer! Yes, he is Elmer, the fierce lecturer. He stuck his hand over Leora's books and other important items. There are several photo albums and important letters belonging to Leora neatly arranged there.

Elmer closed his eyes as he stretched out his fingers. Suddenly, a puff of white smoke came out of the objects. Elmer immediately moved his hand like a person pulling something. The white smoke also moved into Elmer's hands and disappeared magically.

Elmer smiled as he looked at Leora who was asleep soundly. Slowly he walked up to that beautiful girl who had been making Elmer just keep remembering her.

"Is it true that you are the girl I've been waiting for all this time?" asked Elmer softly. His eyes looked at Leora's innocent face that was fast asleep. The exposed quilt made her long legs look seductive. Elmer simply traced Leora's body with a passion that suddenly creeped in his chest.

"That's right, you're the one," he muttered to himself as he held his chest that felt warm. A smile flashed across his lips. The smile that had never been seen on his face for so long also made his handsome face shine even more.

A plan flashed through his mind. Elmer sat on the edge of the bed and stroked gently Leora's face. The girl woke up and felt astonished to see Elmer who was looking at her tenderly.

"Ah, this must be a dream," Leora said silently in her heart. She blinked her eyes.

But suddenly Elmer sat up straight and pricked up his ears. With a quick movement the man soon vanished from Leora's sight.

The girl closed her eyes again to continue sleeping. But a familiar voice startled her. She also woke up and looked at the figure in front of her in a daze.
