SPEAK FROM THE HEART

“I’m sorry, Sir. Can we talk for a while?" asked Leora after all the students left the room.

"What do you want to talk?" asked Elmer shortly without turning his head towards Leora.

"So arrogant, talked to me but still busy on his own," Leora said inwardly.

"I'm indeed busy, it's precisely you who don't know yourself," Elmer replied, looking at Leora with her lips pursed. Leora was of course stunned to see him.

"That, that's what I want to ask," Leora said, pointing to the lecturer in front of her.

"What?" asked the Lecturer coldly.

"How could you possibly hear what I said in my heart?" asked Leora as she stood in front of the lecturer.

"Ask yourself. Why can you also hear me answering you," Elmer replied, looking at the young girl in front of him calmly. The warmth began to chasten him.

"Its useless talking to you, Sir," Leora said as she left the room slowly.

Leora walked slowly down the hallway of the classroom, which had been empty. She stood in front of the elevator that hadn't opened yet.

"THING!"

The elevator door opened and Leora walked in alone. Just as the door was about to close, Elmer suddenly walked in. Leora saw him startled but she lookd like she’s used to seeing that.

"Were you flying?" asked Leora, looking at the back of the lecturer standing in front of her.

"Do you know about it?" Elmer asked back by keeping his back to Leora.

"How could anyone walk that fast if they didn't fly," Leora muttered as if speaking alone.

"And this is not the first time I've noticed it," Leora said, staring intently at the nape of the lecturer who looked smooth and clean.

"You don't think that’s weird, do you?" asked Elmer, turning him around. He stepped his feet closer to Leora.

The girl stepped back step by step until she finally can stop and  leaning against the elevator wall, while Elmer continued to walk up to her. They were now very close, and even Elmer's breath was warm in Leora's pointy nose.

"From this moment on, you will be watching, Girl," Elmer whispered softly. He made Leora's heart seem to stop beating in  instantly. The girl's eyes fixedly looked at Elmer who was smiling faintly and suddenly  moved back quickly and got out of the elevator.

"Ah, what happened just now?" asked Leora when she came to her senses. She turned her head to the right and left but found no one there. Leora slowly walked out of the elevator. She looked back around her but there was no figure of the lecturer there.

"Am I hallucinating?" asked Leora to herself.

Leora walked while holding the top of her nose. The warmth was still felt there. Leora smiled. There was another taste that disturbed her heart. Something soft and seductive despite her even she felt a little pain in her heart.

"What is this sign?" asked Leora in surprise.

"Even this kind of feeling never existed when I was with Sean," she said.

"Ah, never mind. Maybe I thought too much about the cold lecturer so it was hallucinated," she said with a smile. She also stepped her feet lightly out of his college yard.

Meanwhile Elmer just smiled faintly at the sight of Leora walking like a confused person from the window of the lecturer's room. The warm feeling crept slowly in his heart again.

"No. This is definitely something that is not right here," he muttered, rejecting what was felt in his heart.

"Never mind, maybe it's just my feelings that are not good," Elmer said as he prepared to go home.

Leora appeared to be still sitting on the bench of the bus stop when Elmer got there. Today his bike is being repaired so he can't help but have to take a bus to set off to teach. Elmer is not a person who likes  driving a car. The congestion is the special reason why he doesn't like it. Driving while being cursed to be silent because of traffic jams was his least favorite thing.

"Aish, why should I meet this lecturer again," Leora said, turning her face in the other direction.

"I also don't want to meet you, scruffy girl!" Elmer said as he stood next to Leora.

"What?!" hissed Leora inwardly as she turned her head quickly towards Elmer.

"Excuse me, are you talking to me, sir?" he asked puzzled.

"You heard it?" asked Elmer without turning his head towards Leora.

"So arrogant," Leora said irritably as she stood up as from a distance the bus she was waiting for came.

"Even arrogant but handsome," Elmer replied silently with a smile.

"Oops, why am I smiling again?" asked Elmer in his heart as he treaded his foot into the same bus as Leora. The fairly full bus left only two benches in the back corner. Leora immediately walked towards the bench. He also sat sweetly there.

Elmer followed her and sit quietly over that girl. Leora just glanced at the man next to her irritably. The pale hands were seen clasping each other.

Leora took out her phone and started surfing social media. Elmer only occasionally glanced at Leora's phone. Only once see he could find out the social media accounts belongs to Leora and record them silently in his heart.

The streets that had been dark looked beautiful with the twinkling lights along the streets. Leora stood up to prepare to go downstairs. Elmer shifted his seat slightly, giving Leora room to pass him. Leora just nodded as she passed from Elmer's presence. The man stared at Leora who was walking into the alley behind the bus stop.

"So she stayed over there," Elmer said, sniffing around him to recognize the area. Just as the bus started to move, Leora turned her face to look at Elmer who was also looking at her from inside the bus.

"What's wrong with him?" asked Leora in surprise. She then walked leisurely to her home. It's still two blocks away before she will arrive at her grandmother's house. She doesn't know why the shadow of that cold lecturer kept spinning in her head.

"What's wrong with him? Why did the lecturer's face still dance around in my head?" she wondered. Her grandmother's house had been seen from where she was walking. Leora quickened her pace.

"Grandma! I'm coming," Leora exclaimed as she opened the door. Eleanor, Leora's grandmother, seemed to be busy arranging the dining table.

"Ah, it's such a coincidence that you've come, Honey," Eleanor said with a pleased smile.

"Hurry up and take a shower then we have a dinner together," her grandmother invited.

"Fine, Nek," Leora replied happily. She then rushed up to her room upstairs.

Not long after, Leora went back downstairs and found her grandmother who was already sitting sweetly in the dining room. Without say anything to much, Leora immediately joined the grandmother.

"So what do you cook tonight, Grandma?" asked Leora as she looked at the food served on the table.

"Hmm. All my favorite foods. Thank you, Grandma," Leora replied herself. Eleanor just laughed to hear that.

"Never mind, let's go eat. Don't forget to pray first, Leora Darling," said her grandmother then she lifted up her hands together. They prayed and enjoyed the food straight away.

Leora brought a cup of hot chocolate for herself and a cup of black  coffee for Eleanor to the garden in the yard side of the house. Eleanor sat there quiet while watching the sky.

"What are you looking at, Grandma?" asked Leora as she handed her a coffee cup. Eleanor drank her coffee deliciously. But suddenly she straightened her seat. Her eyes stared in a direction sharply. Her lips were stuck as if she was chanting a prayer. Leora was stunned to see it.

"What's the matter?" asked Leora silently in her heart. Confusion looks on her face when her grandmother suddenly turned the face towards her while staring intently.
