Chapter 2

"2806"

Nathan lifted his eyes and stared at the tall building as his heart filled with contempt.

Marriage and children were not in his plans at this point in his life, much less impregnating a woman he had no feelings for.

However, he had no choice but to agree to this for the sake of the old man who was gravely ill.

Nathan tugged at his tie impatiently and pushed Finn’s hand away. He said in a growl, "Go home. Pick me up tomorrow morning."

With that, he went directly toward the elevator without waiting for Finn to reply.

It did not take long before he arrived at Room 2806.

He opened the door with the room card and closed it in one move.

The lighting was very dim inside the room, but he could still make out a small, slender figure sitting on the sofa.

Nathan did not waste any time as he went up directly toward the woman. "Let’s start. I don’t have much time to deal with unnecessary foreplay…"

With that, he removed his tie and began taking off his clothes.

It was not long before his suit and shirt fell onto the floor. He then began taking off his leather belt…

A crisp sound was heard, which helped Eva recover from her shock.

She stared at the figure in front of her in astonishment as questions began filling her head.

What was going on?

Why did a man enter the room instead of that woman?

Also, why was he taking off his clothes?

What did he mean when he said 'Let’s start…'?

While Eva was still reeling from the shock, the man had already pulled out his leather belt and flung it onto the sofa. He leaned toward her and said into her ear, "Don’t worry. I’ll try my best to be gentle."

He immediately grabbed Eva around the waist.

Eva did not understand what was happening and began to panic. "Who are you? What are you doing?"

She attempted to struggle from his grip but realized that she could not push away the arms that locked her around the waist.

Nathan did not expect this reaction from her and was taken aback. He replied in a low voice, "Don’t you know I’m here to get you pregnant? Why would you pretend otherwise?"

Pregnant?

Eva was confused. What was he talking about?!

"Let me go! Who let you in here? Get out…"

"Hah! Get out? I understand. You’d like to save yourself some dignity."

The man leaned into Eva and kissed her on the lips after saying this.

Eva was unable to describe whatever she felt next. Besides her mind going blank, all she felt was indescribable pain.

Even though the man had promised to be gentle, she still ended up crying throughout the ordeal.

In the end, she lost consciousness from exhaustion.

Eva had no idea how much time had passed.

The sky was still dark when she woke up.

Eva cried in silence as she quietly suffered from the ache and pain all over her body. She did not dare to make a noise.

She did not understand why a man had shown up instead of that woman!

Eva wanted to know who was the man who had forced himself on her despite her pleas.

However, she was also afraid.

In the end, she chose to put on her clothes in tears and made her escape hurriedly.

Not long after Eva left, the female attendant slowly appeared from the other end of the corridor.

Taking out her phone, she made a call.

"Yes. It’s confirmed… It has been done according to your instructions."

Five years later, in the southern suburbs of Cloud City, Eva was inside a flower shop called Floral Brocade. She was sitting on a little stool, focused on trimming some flower stalks.

She concentrated hard as she began putting the trimmed flowers together and wrapping them up with decoration paper.

A young girl of about four crouched at her side as she said to Eva, "Mommy, let me tie a ribbon for the bouquet."

The little girl had a sweet, baby-ish voice.

She had exquisite features, looking just like a little doll. Her skin was fair, and she was wearing a pink princess dress. She looked like a little fairy as her figure stood among the myriad of colorful flowers. She gave the impression of being a good, little girl.
