Chapter 6

While everyone was whispering to each other, Max squeezed through the crowd while holding onto his younger sister’s hand.

The two children spotted Nicole immediately.

Mia called out excitedly, “Max, Max! That’s Nicole…”

Max was about to reply when Mia released his hand in excitement. Her short little legs ran forward as she rushed toward Nicole happily.

“Mia…”

Max was taken by surprise. He quickly gave chase but was accidentally tripped by a crew member nearby.

Max fell butt-first to the floor, exclaiming in pain.

As for Mia, she ran really fast. Just as she was about to reach Nicole, Nicole’s assistant suddenly appeared from the side and grabbed her by the collar.

“Hey, what’s wrong with you, kid? Don’t you know not to run about in a place like this?”

Mia looked a little scared by the sudden scolding. “I’m sorry, Miss. I just wanted to meet Nicole…”

Amy did not want Mia to disturb Nicole as she was chatting with Nathan. She released Mia and said, “You can look at her but only from afar. You’re not allowed to be anywhere near her. Go away…”

She gave Mia a push, as if chasing away something diseased.

Mia was not prepared for this and lost her footing. She fell face down to the ground with a thud.

“Ow, it hurts…”

Mia’s eyes turned red from being treated badly.

Max arrived right on time to witness the incident. An anxious look appeared on his face as he ran over to his sister to help her up. “Are you alright, Mia?”

“Max…”

Mia’s big eyes watered. Her entire body looked dirty, and her fair, tender knee was now scratched.

Max was furious when he saw this. Glaring at Amy Thornbury, the assistant, he said sternly, “Lady, please apologize to my sister!”

Amy suddenly felt a little guilty because of the glare from the little guy, but she maintained her attitude stubbornly. “Why should I apologize? Your sister was the one who ran about disobediently!”

“You pushed her and she ended up getting hurt. You should apologize!” Max said matter-of-factly.

The commotion quickly caught the attention of everyone around.

This included Nicole and Nathan.

Nicole frowned at Amy. It was clear that she was a little unhappy.

When Amy noticed this, she quickly berated Max out of fear of Nicole getting mad. “Stop being stubborn about this, kid. Go away right now or I’ll get security to throw you out!”

Max insisted stubbornly. “You should apologize to my sister!”

Mad, Amy called out loud for security. “Throw these two kids out and don’t allow them to come anywhere near…”

Security quickly arrived to throw the children out after finding out about the situation.

Max did not allow them to touch his sister. He quickly shielded her from them by standing in front of her.

However, he ended up being pushed to the ground.

Eva witnessed this.

Rage overcame her as she rushed toward them, yelling, “What are you doing to my children?”

When the two little ones saw their mommy arriving, they knew someone had their back.

Mia ran toward her with an upset look and hugged her mommy’s leg. Max was sitting on the ground, pointing at Amy and not bothering to stand. “Mommy, this lady pushed Mia. Mia got hurt, but she refused to apologize! Mommy, you always said that one should apologize if one did something wrong!”

Eva quickly checked her baby girl’s legs when she heard this and found the wound. The look on Eva’s face turned dark.

Carrying Mia in her arms, she glared at Amy. “You’re an adult. How could you push a child to the ground?”
