Her mother’s voice roared so loud inside the house it made her flinch in terror. She was not the type to yell for she value basic ettiquetes for women so much. It was the first time in fifteen years Harper heard her mother raising her voice that high. She was enraged, literally.

“I have been putting up with your bottles and jars with insects for a long time but did I threw them away?! Did I interrupt with your sessions at the forest to dig some insects even when I want to?! I did not do those things Harper and gave you freedom but this is what you repay to me?! Did I raise you to hurt others?! Do you plan on killing them?! What, do you now aspire to be a murderer?! Harper, I had enough troubles and you just had to add fuel to the fire!” Her mother burst in anger.

Harper is used to her mother’s words and usual complaints. But not this one. Not this time. She saw how pain glimmered through her mother’s weary and tired eyes.
