Back in the Times Part 11

-Killian and Harper in Another Time Frame-

"Go back at the team right now." Nikolai wasn't simply suggesting. It was a command. He glared sharply at Maia who doesn't seem to be fazed by his angry demeanor.

"Why would I go back? There's a lot more opportunity with Blanca's team. The spectrum is wide with them. Obviously, they are the better choice."

"You can't fool me, Evans."

Nikolai knows Maia was only doing this to help the team. She's going to sacrifice herself in order to delay Blanca's project and screw it up. But the damage it could give her might ruin her days at the university. It's too risky to try.

"You heard me," Nikolai repeated, his words were hard and domineering. "Go back at the team. Right now."

But Maia is not the type to submit. She's not someone who can easily ordered by others. Even if it's Nikolai Auxen. It's funny how this stuborness is the only similarity he and Maia had in common.

She inched closer, tiptoed and whispered to his ear. "You can't order me around.
