Sasha’s next

One month after Mandy’s death, Sasha Williams was leaving school one cold Friday afternoon. It was early November and Sasha had to rush home and change clothes before going to her babysitting job at The Ramsey house. She was watching little Cleo Ramsey while her mother and father went to a party.

Sasha had promised Mrs. Ramsey she would be there by 5:30 and she didn’t want to be late. Sasha drove quickly to her home a few blocks from school and ran inside to change.

When she was done she left a note for her mom letting her know where she would be and not to wait up.

Sasha stuck the note on the fridge and grabbed an apple before heading out the door. Sasha wanted to swing by the gym and see her boyfriend before going to the Ramseys. Sasha’s boyfriend Cole Little was a part time personal trainer at the gym.

Sasha walked into the gym and snuck up behind Cole who was in between clients and wrapped her arms around his eyes and giggled guess who. Of course Cole knew it was Sasha but he feigned confusion for a minute causing Sasha to pout. Cole turned around with a sly smile on his face. Love, I’m just teasing you. I knew it was you and gave Sasha a deep kiss. After moving away breathlessly Sasha was no longer pouting.

Cole asked if Sasha wanted to grab dinner after his shift. Sasha sighed and reminded Cole, I’m babysitting for the Ramseys tonight remember. It was Coles turn to pout and he whined Can’t you get out of it?

You know I can’t Sasha mumbled but then she said why don’t you come over after Cleo is asleep? I’ll put her to bed at 8:00 and you can keep me company. This perked Cole up, ok! I’ll be over at 9:00.

Sasha hung out with Cole until it was time to leave. As she kissed Cole goodbye neither one of them noticed the young man hidden in the corner watching them with a hungry look in his eyes.

Sasha got in her car and took off too the Ramseys house with Cole on her mind.

Sasha knocked on Mrs Ramsey’s door at 5:30 on the dot. Mrs. Ramsey opened the door and greeted Sasha with a bright Hello. Sasha walked in and went straight to Cleo and took her out of her high chair. Sasha gave Cleo a snuggle, Hi little Cleo, did you miss me? Cleo babbled, hi Sawa. That was the closet Cleo could get to Sasha but Sasha loved it. She had never heard anything as cute as when Cleo called her Sawa.

Mrs. Ramsey smiled at Sasha, I just fed Cleo but she can have a snack before bed. You have our numbers if you need us and we should be back by 11. Sasha smiled back, we will be just fine. Go have fun. Mrs. Ramsey kissed Cleo and left to meet her husband at the party.

Sasha gave Cleo a bath and played with her for the evening. Cleo was a super easy toddler to watch and she loved to make her giggle. After Cleo’s snack she was so tired she fell asleep on Sasha’s shoulder. Sasha slowly walked her to her room and gently laid her down in her crib. Sasha covered Cleo up and switched off the light before walking out of the room.

Back in the living room Sasha picked up all the toys that Cleo had been playing with and put everything away. Sasha walked into the kitchen to look for ice cream while she waited for Cole to show up.

Meanwhile outside the young man was walking down the street toward the Ramsey house. He had been patiently walking up and down the street and drinking from the flask in his pocket while waiting. When checking his watch he finally saw it was after 8:00. He stumbled his way to the backyard and knocked on the back door.

Sasha heard the knock while eating her ice cream. She was pleasantly surprised as she wasn’t expecting Cole yet. Maybe he decided to come early she thought. Sasha rushed to the door and opened the door without even checking who it was.

Sasha flung the door open and stood in shock when she realized the young man at the door wasn’t Cole. Sasha tried to shut the door quickly but the young man was quicker and stuck his foot in the way and pushed his way in the house.

Sasha realized too late that she made a grave mistake. She tried to cover her fear and asked Who are you?

The young man gave Sasha a sly smile and told Sasha I’m your new boyfriend don’t you remember. Sasha clearly had never met this man before. She calmly said Sir I don’t know you so I think you might have the wrong person.

No! he yelled and made Sasha jump.

I am not at the wrong house he yelled.

I have been looking for you and now that I’ve found you I won’t let you go he said in a eerily calm voice.

Sasha started shaking as she was truly scared and didn’t know what to do in this situation.

She could only hope Cole showed up soon.

Sasha quickly decided to stall. She forced a smile and asked the young man if he needed help looking for his girlfriend.

This agitated the man as he shook his head and grunted you are my girlfriend.

Sasha replied carefully, but I have a boyfriend so i can’t be your girlfriend.

The young man raised his head and glared at Sasha and through clenched teeth hissed, you are going to blow me off like the last one!

Sasha was confused at this time and still hadn’t connected this young man with the girl that was found dead a month ago. Sasha didn’t know Mandy so she didn’t know anything more than what she had heard through the grapevine.

The young man took a step towards Sasha and in a menacing voice, I will ask once more. Will you be my girlfriend?

Sasha looked at the young man and said I’m sorry but I can’t. I think it’s time for you to leave now.

The young man saw red. He couldn’t understand why the girls he chose would keep turning him away. Why do they make me angry he asked himself? The young man took two big steps towards Sasha and before she could react he reached out and snapped her neck.

Sasha slumped to the floor just like Mandy had.

The young man gave one last final look and sadly walked out of the back door and headed home.

The next one will love me he thought. The next one will be just like mom.
