"I don't know what you're talking about, Vivian," I said to her.

I glanced at Aunt Violet, and I knew that I had already gotten her attention. She's already analyzing me with her eyes.

"Of course you wouldn't know because you're a wolf—less so, you couldn't smell what I'm smelling," she defended.

"It's impossible, Vivian. I was with Samantha, and I also bumped into Edmund. You're probably smelling him on me," I said.

"I can't be wrong, Leila!" she insisted, and then she looked at her mother like she was asking for backup. "Mother, I'm not lying. I really smell Lord Archer in her."

Aunt Violet went from just angry mode to beast mode real quick.

"I smell it, Leila," she grimly informed me.

Just like that, I wished for my body to be eaten by the ground again. I know that when it's against the two of them, there is only a slim chance that I will win the argument.

Now, I don't see any chance at all.
