Chapter 2

I woke up at four o'clock in the morning as usual. I tiptoed to the kitchen, opened the window, and closed my eyes to enjoy the fresh air. I raised my head just in time to see Brian's room, inside still maintaining a pale yellow light.

When I think of him, I have many thoughts. The time I'm here, life is better than before; at least I get to eat and sleep enough, and I don't have to worry about being beaten. Brian's personality is a bit strange, he often stays up until dawn and then goes to sleep, so he and I only have a little interaction.

Every day I must do my duty well, clean the house and prepare three meals. It wouldn't be too bad if it continued like this.

'I want to see my mate; I haven't seen him in a few days.' Oralie began to lament; ever since that first meeting with Brian, she's constantly been bugging me about it.

'If you have the guts to break his rules, I won't stop you, convert and get up there, but if we break any bones, I won't spare you.' I snapped.

Oralie groaned momentarily and didn't say anything more; she turned away and crouched in a corner as if she was sulking at me.

After getting ready in the morning, I went to the garden and picked some wildflowers. I realized that as long as I didn't bother Brian, he wouldn't care what I did. The second day I was here, I secretly opened the window to let the light in, I was also prepared to be beaten, but nothing happened, so I dared to open all the windows in the living room.

After arranging the flowers, I cleaned the house again; a dull day will often pass like that.

Suddenly, a car engine was approaching; I saw a highly luxurious white car parked in front of the door, and a woman in her 30s got out.

"Open door!" When she saw me, she shouted.

I instinctively looked up at Brian's room, afraid of waking him up, so I rushed out, politely bowing to her. What's wrong?

The woman glared at me with disgust. "Didn't you see anyone coming? Why didn't you open the door quickly?"

I tilted my head and followed her eyes into the car; the door frame revealed a beautiful face like a statue. The woman has golden hair, typical blue eyes, and gentle beauty, but when combined with that ice-cold aura, it seems contrasting but, on the contrary, very attractive.

"Kate, what's taking so long?" The cold voice of the woman in the car rang out.

And the person named Kate immediately changed his attitude when talking to her. Kate bowed respectfully. "Luna, there's a cockroach in our way."

I stood up for a few seconds, my eyes widening.

‘Oralie, did I mishear? Is that our Luna? Is it Richard's mother, or did Luna leave the pack 21 years ago?' I asked a series of questions to Oralie, and she was also in a state of shock.

“Know who the person in the car is and still don't open the door? Maybe lowly people like you won't know; I'll say it for once. The one you see is the only Luna of the Blood Ocean." Kate cocked her chin arrogantly.

My hands trembled, and I opened the door faster, maintaining my head down all day.

Since I was born, Luna Serena has left the pack because of some disagreements with Alpha Arnold; she has yet to return. In the pack, gradually, the kids usually only know one person as Vyna; although she has no title, perhaps in everyone's eyes, she is seen as the queen of this place. She has a love of Alpha and has Richard, who can be chosen to become Alpha in the future.

‘What did she come here for, Kelsey? It scared me to look at her; she was expressionless, like an iceberg.' Oralie trembled, her voice small too.

'Maybe her facial muscles are like that, but what if she's friendly?' I said to myself, but as expected, the body had the most honest reaction; now I was trembling like a cat caught in the rain.

Luna Serena did not let me in her eyes; she got out of the car, went straight into the house, sat on the sofa, and asked coldly. "Where is Brian?"

Seeing her gaze directed at me, I jumped in surprise. "Luna, Sir Brian is still asleep."

Luna Serena's expression didn't change much; her following sentence showed her displeasure. "What time is this, and still sleeping?"

I gulped, trying to suppress my fear as I answered. “These few days, Mr. Brian—”

“Get him down here; I need to talk.” Luna Serena didn't show any emotion interrupting my words.

'Kelsey, my legs are so soft, I want to cry.' Oralie's eyes were bloodshot; she was shy, and such things were too much to bear her.

"Luna, Sir Brian has told me often not to disturb his sleep..." No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't hide the trembling in my words.

After listening to me, Luna Serena's face became colder and colder. "Kate."

Before I could understand what was happening, my body was thrown two meters away; my spine was kicked down the stairs, causing my body to become paralyzed.

My lips move, and before I can get a word out, Kate rushes in again, her eyes glimmering with cruelty. She has incredible speed, like a lightning bolt.

"No one dares to say 'no' to Luna!" Kate gave me a warning look.

I sat up hunched over, the pain running through my body, making me groan uncontrollably.

Kate immediately kicked me in the chin, her tone filled with disdain. "How dare you moan to dirty Luna's ears?"

I immediately closed my mouth; since I was little, I was not good at anything except making others happy so that an enslaved person like me would have less physical pain.

“Go up there and call him down.” Luna Serena didn't even look at me.

I clenched my teeth and hesitated for a long time, my body shaking with fear, but I still firmly shook my head.

Seeing me protest, Kate got even angry; she threw me to the ground again and then roared in disdain. “People like you are uneducated; I will teach you instead of your parents today!”

The corners of my red eyes when I heard about my parents; sometimes I wondered if they were still alive, maybe I wouldn't be so miserable, right?

A powerful force grazes my stomach, my body rolling to the ground like a ball. A viscous liquid stuck to my shirt stuck to my back. I know my back is bleeding.

I forced myself to put my hands on the ground and sat up; my head was also bleeding, so I was a little drunk, and my vision blurred. I see Kate's shadow slowly approaching, her heeled shoe lifted to aim for my face, about to land.

I closed my eyes, my body shaking.

After a while, nothing happened, and my face and body didn't hurt either.

Suddenly, I heard a hoarse male voice. "What's with the noise?"
