Kelsey's POV:

I hide behind Brian's broad back, and suddenly, I feel safer with him here.

At the side, I peeked at Brian's expression, wanting to read some of his thoughts from his face, but in the end, I withdrew my eyes in disappointment. I couldn't fathom what Brian was, but in my heart, there was a glimmer of hope that he would protect me.

If it were before, I wouldn't have dared to hope so much, but just now, Brian saved me once; he is kind.

'Kelsey, maybe you're the only one in the world who thinks Brian is honest. He saved us, but he treats others unequivocally cruelly.' Oralie whispered when she heard my thoughts.

I was stunned, and at Oralie's prompting, the image of Kate and the older woman from earlier replayed in my mind. Both of them were brutally broken hands by Brian.

'But he saved me; in my eyes, he's the most honest person.' I defended Brian and turned my eyes to him.
