Part 2: The Vampire Queen

Rain.

Gloomy weather had never mattered to Cole before. But now—somehow, he understood why it was always so dark, so cold and so sad.

He started at the patch of dirt, hating how the soft patter of rain didn’t wash away the pain in his chest. Cole had no idea how it came to this… how he went from having the love of his life in his arms, to standing in the rain for an hour, staring at the ground.

The open world didn’t feel as free as he had anticipated. Although he managed to leave Unici-him and Genevieve—the feeling of the wind in his hair and the bite of freedom on his ski didn’t feel like he had expected it to.
