Chapter 9: The Mistake

Waking up with a throbbing headache was the worst aftermath of my night out at the club. It was undoubtedly a hangover. I had indulged in alcohol to the point of blacking out, unable to recall anything that happened that night. Thankfully, I don't need to worry as I have a loyal best friend, Hailey, who always takes care of me. The perks of having a genuine friend.

Feeling thirsty, I tried to push aside the heavy drowsiness and ignored my parched throat.

"I'll get up later," I promised myself.

I wrapped myself in the warm blanket, avoiding the effort of getting up to get a drink so my sleep wouldn't get cut. Upon doing that, I realized the room was cold when the air conditioner hit my skin. It made me shiver and tugged myself even more under the blanket. By continue doing this, the cold lessened.
