Chapter 6

I shared the good news with Vickie when I got back to the hotel. She was excited for me before informing me that she had complete faith in her grandson.

I didn't bother to tell her about Beth. I knew that if I did, she would have told Conor about it, and I didn't want to be the reason that Beth gets in trouble even if she does deserve it.

Jonas and Vickie invited me over for supper last night, and it was delicious. Vickie really knows how to cook. I offered to help with the dishes once we were done eating, and I had accidentally dropped one of her pretty purple plates.

Sweet Vickie, of course, knew what I was about to do and quickly assured me it was okay, and she had plenty of other dishes. She wouldn't miss the one. She then grabbed my hand and led me out of the room after Jonas offered to clean the broke pieces off the floor.

I'm now standing in front of the door of the Sleepy Sheep again, trying to gather the courage to walk inside and not look like a scared mouse this time.
