20. Day off.

Jade’s POV.

After my episode with Miss Antonio, I asked to be excused so I could go home for a change but instead of a short break from work, she asked me to take the entire day off.

In her words, “Don’t think I’m letting you off easy. But my hands are tied. So just take the rest of the day off and make sure that by the time you return, you’ll be giving me no more headaches.”

“Giving me a day off is not necessary ma’am. I am well rested and only need to have a quick change of clothes.” I replied.

“Miss Shelton, between the two of us, who gives the orders?” she asked, glaring at me.

“You ma’am.”

“Now when I say take the rest of the day off, you take the day off, no questions asked. Unless you want me to make working here a living hell for you for refusing to follow my orders.” She threatened and I smiled to myself.

“My life is already a living hell here.” I mumbled.
