19. Meetings and Proposals.

Adrian’s POV.

“What is going on there?” I asked Jay who was walking closely behind me on our way to my office.

“I don’t know. Let’s check it out.” He answered and we approached the scene.

As we got closer, I saw her being scolded by Marilyn for something I was soon to find out. Her eyes soon met mine and I could see the longing in her eyes that begged for me to step in and save her but I didn’t.

She suddenly took to her heels as I felt her brush past me. The staffs became aware of my presence and started returning to their posts.

“Oh, sir, good morning. I didn’t know you were here. Did you hear any of that?” Marilyn asked, feeling very uneasy.

Something was wrong and I needed to know what it was. “To my office. Now!” I demanded and walked away.

We got in my office, all three of us. “Um, sir is there a problem?” she flashed a nervous smile.

“What the hell was that I witnessed just now?”

“Oh, that? That was nothing sir. I was just talking to Miss Shelton on how to do her job right.”
