Chapter 9: Confusion

“I had a lovely time thank you” Amber says looking at him brightly. “I did too, can you give me a little time? I think we should take things slow, we have only just started working together and it would be a shame to rush things” Grant says finding it difficult to find the right words to express himself.

“Of course, this is all new territory for me too, so slow is good” Amber agrees not seeing the apprehension in his eyes. “Thank you, I’ll talk to you Monday if not before” he says allowing her to walk into her complex.

As he gets in his car, he sighs and rubs the ache he has in his chest. He’ll text Amber’s doctor tomorrow and hopefully she will be able to shed some light on how he deals with his conflicting feelings. He drives home with his emotions seesawing from happiness to worry.
