Chapter 20: Whole Again

It’s been six months since Grant and her mother have seen Stacey properly. They did go up for the open house day, two months ago. But it was too short and if anything, they just missed her more. The therapy was going well she was remembering more and more but she still referred to Stacey as the third person. Liz had explained that it was her last string to cut. She is apprehensive, so was finding it hard to let go of that final piece of Amber.

They are together again, planning another video to send her. “We could do another baking video, let’s bake her some of the coconut squares that Stacey loved?” Grant suggests to her mother. They were sitting in the coffee shop near the entrance of her mother’s apartment.

Grant had made the decision about four months ago to buy there too. He now lived in the third block of apartments, that was furthest away from the entrance of their gated community. But closer to the small lake, park and trails. He had become much closer to her mother
