Twenty Nine

DANDELIONS

“Hi Laura, it’s me, Selena.” She could hear her voice bouncing back from the walls on the other end of the line. There was heavy breathing on the phone.

“Selena?” the wavering voice broke through. “Is that you ?” “Yes Lu, it’s me” she answered, holding back the tears.

“But...........how.........I thought you were......dead” She breathed, now crying. “Let’s not do this over the phone. Meet me at the play Park in one hour. Bring Erick with you.”

“Uuuum, okay.........we will be there” she promised, still in shock.

The Play Park was a large green field of irregular plains. A dozen deliberate trees held a few spots to offer to relieve shelter to the couples that flocked here from the library across the street. The state museum stood eastward, overlooking the lucent lawn and satiating atmosphere.

Selena came here as quickly as she could, and stood anxiously for a moment in the open as she searched for them.
