Estelle POV

I sighed, looking at my bloody hand. I feel sorry she is dead, and I feel even more sorry that Maven is still bent on not feeling any remorse. Honestly, I don’t want to force her to feel remorse; I just wanted her to understand that she was just a woman in love with a man, ready to do anything for him to be safe, even if he has to duel in self-pity.

“We bury her tomorrow,” Felix said, and I just slumped in the chair. The party was over; it was just us remaining with Rodney.

“Should we contact her husband?” Rodney asked.

“I don’t think we should; she was dead to him for a long time,” Maven said.

“But I feel he should know, just to confirm she is truly dead and he can completely move on,” Aurelian said. And I agree with him; from what I heard, he loved her.

“I will wash up,” I said, standing up and walking out of the dressing room. I sighed. I really don’t like seeing people die; it makes me feel lost.
