Chapter Thirteen

Day two of the field trip. Night.

Hayan stares at nothing. He found a mini-playground earlier not too far from the hotel so he decided to stay there and sit on the swing while thinking of what happened earlier. The wind blew coldly. He looks up and sees the sky full of stars tonight.

Earlier, Red suddenly appears out of nowhere while he's in the middle of his talk with Sean. When he turned again to his direction, he's gone. Red didn't say anything either. He just smiled at him and followed Sean, leaving him in confusion.

*What's happening to them? They're... Weird.

I wonder where they are right now*. He sighed. *I didn't even finished talking to Sean. Will we go back to normal now?

I really hope so*.

He stops thinking when he saw a pair of feet in front of him. He slowly looked up and saw Hajin who smiled at him the moment their eyes met.

Badump... Badump.. Badump.. (Sound of Hayan's rapid heartbeat.)

"I was looking for you." Hajin commented and sat at the empty swing beside him.

"Ha?"

He slowly moved the swing while his feet is dragging on the ground. "So... Did you made up with Sean?"

"I don't know." He answers honestly. "I hope so."

Hajin looks up. "The sky is pretty tonight."

He nods in agreement. "Yeah."

"Do you like stars too, Hayan?"

"N-not too much. They really look pretty that I want to touch them but they're so far away..." He stares at his feet. What am I saying?

Hajin chuckles lightly at his answer. "I honestly think there is someone who's like a star." He looks at him and sees him still looking up. "He shines brightly on his own, and he doesn't even know it."

Hayan just stared at him in confusion, not getting a gist at what he's saying.

"I'm talking about you, Hayan."

Badump!

"You were like a star. You shine on your own." He continues as he looks at him. "I... Want to touch you."

M-me? A star? But... He's more like a star than me!

Hajin slowly lifts his right hand up and touches Hayan's face, almost caressing it.

Thump.. Badump.. Thump..

It went on for a minute before Hajin removes his hand and stands up.

"Let' go, the teacher might be having room inspection by now. We would be dead if they know that we're still outside the hotel."

I shall tell him how I feel. He thought as he watch him walk away. T-this is the right time... Right?

He immediately stands up. "Hajin!" He stops walking and turns around. Hayan uses this as an opportunity to walk towards him.

"I..."

*Now's the time, Hayan! Tell him how you feel!

B-but what if I get rejected?

Well, at least you try! Do you really want to waste this precious moment*?

He glances at him while his having an inner fight with himself. Hajin walks closer to him.

"What is it?"

He suddenly felt uneasy and concious now that Hajin is only a few meters away from him.

"I... H-Hajin..."

*Just say it, I like you, Hajin! It's easy!

I.. I can't do this*.

"Don't force yourself." Hajin said, stopping his inner fights. "Let's go back, it's getting cold."

To his surprise, Hajin grabs his left hand, squuezes it lightly and pulls him closer so that they can walk together. He stared at their intertwined hands, his mind and vision going hazy with only their hands clear to his eyes. He could not think straight, he feels like he's going to pass out from all the surge of emotion he's feeling right now.

**Is this real?

Hajin's hand is so warm...

I should confess how I feel before our field trip ends**!

He glanced at Hajin's back while walking calmly without him knowing his plans.

Hotel Room

Sean's already at the room when they walked in, sitting on the bed while watching TV. He glances at both of them.

"Where have you been?" Hayan looks at him in surprise, not expecting that he would talk to him.

Sean frowns as he continue. "I was looking for you everywhere."

He stares at Sean then to Hajin. Hajin gives him a smile. He smiles back as he walk towards Sean and sits beside him.

"I... I saw a playground earlier." He excitedly claimed.

"You went there alone? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Y-you were with Red..." Sean only frowns at his answer before taking a deep sigh.

Hayan looks at him with tears in his eyes. "Sean... You're not mad at me anymore?"

"I told you, I'm not mad. And don't you dare cry!" He smiles and nod as he hold back his tears. Hajin watches them with a smile on his face before he grabs a cloth from his luggage and enters the bathroom.

"I'm sorry..." Sean said softly. "I'm sorry for the way I acted this past few days."

He shakes his head. "I'm sure you have a reason why. Weren't you about to tell me earlier? What is it?"

Sean pauses for a minute before speaking again. "I was going to apologize."

"Is that so?"

"Hmm."

"So, why did you ignore me?" Sean looked surprise as he averted his gaze away from him.

"I can't tell you right now."

"Why?"

"I'm not ready to say it yet. G-give me some time."

"You won't ignore me anymore?"

He shakes his head as an answer. Hayan finally flashes a smiles in delight.

"By the way, where did you and Hajin went?"

He's suddenly reminded of what just happened earlier. His face went red immediately. "I-In the playground."

He eyes him suspiciously. "Did something happen?"

Hayan panics as he tried to come up with an excuse. "T-that... Ah..."

"You're too obvious. Something might have happened then." He grins at his reaction. He looked like a kid getting caught stealing candies. "Shall I leave you two alone here?"

Hayan's eyes widens. "No! D-don't do that, please."

He laughs loudly. "Your voice really gets loud when you're panicking."

Hayan stares at Sean laughing with relief and happiness shown on his face.

I'm glad we're back to normal now...
