Chapter Seven

"Aren't you telling me something?"

It's their PE time and Sean and Hayan are sitting on the bench watching their classmates play ball. Due to Hayan's asthma, he has to sit down whenever an activity involving physical strength is the lesson.

"What do you mean?" He asked. "And why are you always here? Are you asthmatic too?"

"Of course I won't leave you here alone!" He answered, grinning. He shook his head. He's always like this. Sean is lucky that the teacher isn't scolding him. "So, what is it?"

"What is it?"

Sean sighed. "I saw you with Hajin this morning! You two went to school together! Are you planning to keep this a secret from me?"

As soon as the word 'Hajin' got mentioned, Hayan's face turned red. "I-it's not like that."

"Then what is?"

"We just happened to meet each other in the hallway." Sean looked at him as if not believing him.

"And yesterday? What happened yesterday?"

"Yesterday?" Images of him touching Hajin's face suddenly flooded his memories. "Something must've happened then!" Sean moved closer to him. "Your face is so red right now! Tell me... what did you do, huh?"

Their talking will be interrupted when all of a sudden, an arm is on their shoulder.

"What a coincidence that we have the same class today."

"Red."

Red smiled. "Hayan." He pinched his cheeks afterwards. Sean let out an annoyed sigh and removed his hand on his shoulder.

"You have a class here too?"

He nodded. "It just so happened that our PE got scheduled in an earlier time..." He then glanced at Hayan and flashed a cheeky smile. "...And it's the same time as your class! Say, is this what they call... a destiny?"

"Destiny my ass." Sean whispered but enough for them to hear. Red just laughed at his remark.

"You're Sean, right?" Red asked but he ignored him. "It was nice meeting you again."

"Huh?" Hayan looked at both of them in confusion. He knows that Sean and Red never knew each other but somehow they're familiar of each other's faces because of Red often meeting him when he's with Sean. But to think that they're already close...

"Don't listen to him, Hayan."

"I don't understand..."

Red put his arm on his shoulder again. "You don't need to understand. It seems like he doesn't want to talk about it." Red then glanced at Sean and wiggled his eyebrows meaningfully. He just answered him with a glare. Sean can't do anything rash because of Hayan. How he wanted to have his revenge right here, right now. But all he could only do is sigh in hopes to remove his annoyance.

"Well, I've gotta go. Watch me well, Hayan." He caressed his cheeks and winked at Sean before leaving to go to his classmates. Sean followed him with a glare.

"Did something happened, Sean? Why are you-"

"It's nothing. I just don't really like him."

"Sean Kim! Why are you sitting there when you're not sick? Go down here this instant!" Their gym instructor's voice echoed the gymnasium. Hayan chuckled.

"I'll get us a drink."

Sean nodded and hurriedly went down. Hayan then stand up and went to the vending machine loacted just outside the gymnasium.

"Can you get me one, too?"

Hayan felt frozen on the spot when he heard Hajin's voice beside him.

"Hayan?"

"Huh? Ah... Y-yes. What... what do you want?"

"Hmmm.." Hajin stared at the machine and pointed. "That soda."

Hayan nodded and tried to insert the coin with his trembling hand. He failed, though, and the coin rolled on the ground. He frantically chased for it. But Hajin's quicker. He immediately grabbed the coin.

"Let me do it." He inserted the coin smoothly. "What do you want?"

"Huh? Ah.. t-the grapefruit one."

"Grapefruit? Okay."

"Ah, I have to get Sean one too." Hayan remembered and grabbed his friend's favorite orange soda.

Hajin remained on his spot and just stared at him, making him awkward.

What's wrong? Is something on my face?"

"Hayan!" Red suddenly appears and blocked Hajin from his view. "Do you have a spare coin? I'm thirsty but I don't have a coin with me."

"I don't have a coin with me... Just drink here and leave some for me." He then suggested and offered the drink.

"Really?" Hayan nodded. "Are you aware that this is indirect kissing?" Red informed him while grinning. Hayan's eyes widened.

I-indirect kiss?"

"Ah-"

He tried to snatch away the drink but it's too late. Red already took a sip from it. "Too late." He stared at him in disbelief.

Red laughed seeing his reaction. "What to do? You're so cute." He said in between laughs while pinching his cheeks. "Don't worry, my mouth didn't touched the lid. If I want us to kiss, I want it to be real, and not indirectly." He gave him a sweet smile before turning around.

He saw Hajin still standing there, quietly watching his whole fiasco with Red.

"H-hajin..."

"Let's go inside. The teacher may have noticed that we were gone." Hajin said and smiled at him. Hayan nodded and followed him towards the gymnasium.

"By the way.." Hajin stopped walking and turned around. He instinctly take a step back, not wanting to make Hajin uncomfortable if they become too close with each other. "I'm really curious of what grapefruit tastes like."

"I-it's really good."

"Really? Can I have a taste, then?"

"Huh? Sure..."

Hayan shyly give the drink to him. Hajin gave him a smile before taking a sip and giving it back to him.

"Sorry, my mouth touched the lid." He apologised.

"I-it's okay... I don't mind..."

"Really? Then I'm glad. Let's go." He turned around and walked inside the gymnasium, leaving Hayan staring at the bottle of drink.
