Hi guys I have been busy lately so have not uploaded any chapters for a while. This is my apology chapter.
Wednesday first June twenty thousand and twenty-one, seven fifty-five in the morning. Ding The sound of the elevator dinged upon the extremely quiet top floor of the building causing the heart of the lean and five feet tall young girl that was standing by the receptionist's desk to jump. ‘He is here,’ was the thought running through her mind as she scrambled to stand behind her desk to wait for the elevator door to open and the man to exit. It has only been a year since the man had taken over the CEO position and a lot of employees were terminated along with new ones arriving. She needed that job and since the first secretary was fired she was trying to keep herself on her p’s and q’s at all times. She was also hoping that she could get a position as one of the secretaries as soon as the vacancy opened. She also wished that the young CEO would take a look at her and maybe have some interest in her as she had in him. The door opened and out walked a man with long legs which clearl
He wished he could know who was so cruel enough to kill a newborn baby and to top it off that baby didn’t even get a chance to see what this world was like. He also hated the fact that he couldn’t even tell where she was born and who killed her. “Anna Fortune,” he said as he found the name sounds familiar and the way the name rolled of his tongue was like he was accustomed to saying that name. He didn’t know why he felt the name familiar and he wanted to think about where he had heard the name before. Lee leaned his head on the backrest of his chair before turning the chair to face the world view, he then closed his eyes, and then suddenly the dream he had from the night before he woke up that morning returned. In the dream, he could clearly see a young girl that looked around fifteen sitting behind a desk busy writing on a sheet of paper. Her hair was black but was cut in an uneven way, it was clear that she was also malnourished but that didn’t take the bea
The words were finally finished being typed, there were only eleven words and four sentences, ‘Help her, please help her. She needs you. Please help her.’ It was like a plea for help, he found it was strange that if the person had magic and was powerful enough to contact him, then they should be capable to help this young girl. Lee was still hesitant to help this girl as he didn’t want to believe that this girl, Anna Fortune was his mate and he wasn’t interested in helping some random girl because someone that he didn’t know asked him to. As Lee was about to ignore the screen, he noticed that the words disappeared and soon the screen returned to how it was before. After a second, Lee composed himself and sent Michael back to his office to continue compiling the files for the next few days and weeks. The rest of the afternoon was quiet, there were no more messages or additional work or uninteresting phone calls. The silence and the lack of disturbance caused L
He needed some blood to replenish his energy, and to also help him out for the next two weeks. He wasn’t sure if this young girl was really his mate, and maybe he was granted a second chance mate as he never got to meet his first one. He didn’t want to suffer from blood lust around any humans and he was sure if that orphanage did exit as well as the girl, then he was sure to encounter a lot of humans. He walked to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, he removed the fresh tray and then opened the secret compartment that was hidden from the human staff which contained blood packs. Lee frowned, he didn’t like the packs but at the moment it was better than scaring the staff for some fresh blood which would lead to the whole household waking up and him explaining what he was doing that early in the morning. Just after he reheated three packs of the blood and some raw meat his cellphone rang, seeing that it was Michael he asked, “What time?” “Eight.” “G
When they arrived at the airport it was seven, since Michael had bought the tickets online he needed to present their passports to the receptionist to get their tickets. Their luggage needed to be checked in and tagged as the decision was made suddenly and the proper arrangements were not put in place. James helped them offload their things from the car, he was planning to park the car in the parking lot and then see if he could still get a meal and a drink for his boss at the airport. However, Lee stopped him and said, “Get the things on your way back home. I know we had rushed you this morning and you didn’t get a proper breakfast, but you should know as one of my employees, you need to also take care of yourself.” Lee could see the hesitation on James' face and he could tell that the man wanted to object, but he beat it and said, “No need to help us, just make sure everything is ready before my return in two weeks and that the place is secure enough. Also, make su
“No need to do that, this is Mr. Ford and I am his assistant,” Michael said. “Oh, then I am safe. I should get your things in the car then. You guys probably want to use the washroom and get something to eat before we head out,” Davis said while taking their things and putting them in the trunk of the SUV. “Why is that?” Michael asked. “Well, it is now half four,” he said as he looked at the time on his watch. “It is peak time, fortunately, it is Sunday so there not supposed to be much traffic on the highway. It may take us approximately four to five hours for the most to arrive there.” “Fair enough, which side is the washroom and the canteen?” Michael asked. “I have never been inside the airport before, but there are signs around,” Davis said. “Anyway, I should move the car from here before the security returns.” Lee and Michael looked at each other, their luggage was already inside the vehicle. Even though their suitcases were locked
“KFC safe,” Lee said. “Cool, I was thinking about a Sub, but Subway is a little distance off, I would also choose KFC. What about you Mr. Bernard?” “Same here,” Michael said. “Anything in particular?” “The Zinger sandwich with the drink and fries for the boss, same for me but with biscuits instead of fries,” Michael said. Davis left them and walked towards the KFC outlet, he stood in line while Michael and Lee took a seat just around where KFC was. They sat down on a table that had just been cleaned and had four chairs, they would notice from time to time girls would keep looking in their direction and were laughing or giggling. Davis returned ten minutes later with a tray that had three drinks, a large box, and three smaller ones. “I bought some extra sandwiches for you guys. It’s for the morning,” Davis said while placing the drinks in front of each of them, then placing a small box. “Thanks,” Michael said, he could clearly s
“He seems okay and would be a good assistant,” Michael said walking towards the door and locking it. “Men would do anything for money, loyalty is what’s important,” Lee said, before pulling his suitcase to the master bedroom. “Boss we forget to ask him about the orphanage,” Michael said before entering the guest room on the opposite side of the living room area. “Didn’t we already find it?” Lee asked. “You mean the house we stopped in front of is the orphanage? How do you know that?” “Don’t ask any questions, just get some rest,” Lee said and then locked his room door. Lee head to the shower and take a cold bath, he found that this country was too humid for his liking, a good thing he brought a lot of cotton t-shirt and jeans pants, or else he would feel suffocated in only wearing suits the whole day. By the time he got on the bed, it was midnight in Trinidad but he couldn’t sleep as his body clock would wake him at five in the
