Davis

When they arrived at the airport it was seven, since Michael had bought the tickets online he needed to present their passports to the receptionist to get their tickets. Their luggage needed to be checked in and tagged as the decision was made suddenly and the proper arrangements were not put in place.

James helped them offload their things from the car, he was planning to park the car in the parking lot and then see if he could still get a meal and a drink for his boss at the airport. However, Lee stopped him and said, “Get the things on your way back home. I know we had rushed you this morning and you didn’t get a proper breakfast, but you should know as one of my employees, you need to also take care of yourself.”

Lee could see the hesitation on James' face and he could tell that the man wanted to object, but he beat it and said, “No need to help us, just make sure everything is ready before my return in two weeks and that the place is secure enough. Also, make sure you take care of yourself, you are my third in command, and with both Michael and I out of the country you will need to keep things in order.”

“Yes sir,” before sitting back down behind the wheel of the car. Michael and Lee watched the car pull out of the curb and then back onto the main road leading to the highway.

“Was everything sorted?” Lee asked Michael once again.

“Yes, I have also packed the laptop in my hand luggage.”

“Good, I would take our things to the customs department to weigh and scan our bags before locking and sealing them with the tags,” Lee said before pulling the two suitcases by the handles are he wheeled them inside.

Michael joined the line to the receptionist, he managed to finish before Lee so he walked over to Lee and tagged the two suitcases. He even locked them as he didn’t want the officers to be going through their bags.

The both of them walked through the scanners while their suitcases were being scanned after being placed on the luggage moving belts. Michael and Lee watched their luggage being loaded on the trolley that would take their suitcase to the plane they would be boarding.

By the time they finished at both lines, it was already eight and their flight number was being called. They walked over to the boarding gate and then got on the plane after presenting their tickets and passports. Because it was a late decision they didn’t get any first-class tickets but still managed to get business class tickets and seats next to each other as well.

“What changed your mind?” Michael suddenly asked.

“I couldn’t sleep properly. Have everything been arranged?”

“Yes. I booked a guest house and asked for the owner to provide a car and driver to pick us up at the airport.”

“Good, at least we don’t have to worry about getting lost when we are driving,” Lee said before opening the last button on his suit jacket before scrolling on his phone.

Michael strained his eyes to see what his boss was looking at only to see that his boss was using the G****e Maps app to find the country. He then saw his boss navigating the screen into looking at the country.

“Look where Cedros is,” Lee pointed out to him. It was close to the bottom of the country like a town that was forgotten. ‘Maybe they should have named the orphanage forgotten instead,’ he thought.

Not too long after they heard the announcement to turn off all electronic devices as well as to fasten their seatbelts as the plane was about to take off. Lee took off his phone and secured it in his jacket inside his pocket before closing his eyes as he hoped that along the thirteen hours of flight that he could get some sleep, as he didn’t get much that night.

The flight was indeed thirteen hours but because of the five ours difference between the two countries, when they arrived in Trinidad it was only four in the afternoon. However, the airport was very busy with a lot of planes arriving from many different countries.

While they were waiting for their luggage they heard the other passengers talking out some outbreak and because they were stranded in another country they took the first flight back home. Lee didn’t realize that the borders were closed but then again he was accustomed to using his own different forms of transport.

“It’s a good thing that we don’t get sick,” lee heard Michael say, it was a whisper that only Lee was possible to hear.

“Let’s hope she isn’t pruned to getting sick either,” Lee said. Just then he saw their luggage arriving so he walked over and took the two suitcases before walking over to Michael. Michael took his luggage from Lee and they both walked out. “Do you have the driver’s number?”

“Yes, it was added in the information when they told me that our booking at their beach house was available.”

Lee and Michael exited the departure terminal and stood by the curb, they both took out their phones and turned them on. While they were waiting for the phones to reboot they saw a security officer talking to a young man that was standing by a silver SUV. The security seemed to be making out a ticket for the young man when they suddenly noticed that the young man pointed at them.

The security dragged the young man to them and asked, “Is this young man here to pick you up?”

“It depends,” Michael answered.

“Aren’t you Mr. Ford? You booked out our beach house at Cedros,” the young man said.

“Young man I didn’t ask you to speak,” the security said.

“It’s okay. I was just about to call him and tell him that we are standing on the curb,” Michael said to the security.

“You get away this time young man, remember you are only allowed to drop off and pick up passengers. You are not allowed to park by the curb,” the security said and then walked away after canceling the ticket that he was writing.

“Thanks man, you saved me. I am Davis by the way,” the young man said then stretched out his hand for them to shake.

“What happened?” Michael asked, he was curious why the security was being so unfriendly.

“Well, to be honest, the rules here at the airport is that all vehicles are too parked in the car park and can only stop at the curb when it is time to pick up or drop of. I had just arrived and came out of the car, was about to call the number of the person I have to pick up when the security came. Talking about that let me call that number,” Davis said and pulled out his phone.
