Announce her

Alpha Theo's POV

“This can't be happening,” I grunted as I continued pacing around the room, while Leo just stood at the window, lost in thought. “Claim her, she's our mate,” Douglas growled in my head, causing me to grit my teeth with anger. The thought of her being our mate was something I couldn't take. How could my younger brother's fiancée be our mate?

“This is bad,” Leo murmured, and that made me move my attention towards him. He turned around and then he held my gaze with a worried and frustrated look on his face. We both stared at each other, but neither of us could say a word because we were so speechless.

Leo left the window, and then he sat on the bed with a frustrated sigh. “What do we do?” He asked. “Claim her,” my wolf responded, and I sighed. “I don't know; we can't keep it a secret, Leo. She is our mate, and we can't let her end up with him,” I argued. But Leo was silent; he was probably thinking something, and I needed to know what he was thinking.

“I think we should just go downstairs and tell everyone,” I suggested, but Leo shook his head with a sigh. “Think of Austin; you know what will happen if he gets to know this,” Leo said, and I frowned. “But…” I tried to speak, but he cut me off. “Don't be ridiculous, Theo; you know what will happen to Austin if he finds out about it. He loves that girl so much…”

“But she is our mate,” I argued, and he groaned and then shook his head.

I watched him pace around for a while before he stood before me and sighed. “You know of Austin's condition; you know what will happen to him,” Leo said, and that got me flared. “I know of his condition, Leo, but what about us? Are we going to just keep quiet, Leo? She is our mate, for goodness' sake,” I said, hoping he would see reasons with me, but the look on his face showed that he wasn't on the same page with me.

“Let's calm down and think this through,” Leo suggested, but my wolf growled against it. “Don't listen to him,” my wolf growled, and I sighed.

I walked back to the bed and took a seat, while Leo went back to the window and stood behind it. An awkward silence filled the room as we both remained silent until Leo finally spoke. “We should wait and see if she will tell everyone herself,” Leo suggested. But I scoffed. “What if she is in love with Austin? Do you think she would want to break his heart by telling him that she is the mate of his elder brothers?” I said, and Leo sighed.

“But…” His words were cut off when a knock came on the door.

“Who is it?” I asked. “My lords, the table is set, and your parents ask for your presence,” a male servant spoke from the door. “You can leave.”

I turned to Leo, who looked back at me but didn't say a word. “What do you say, should we say it?” I asked, but he shook his head without giving it a second thought, and that got me upset, and I had to flare up. “Do you understand that this girl is our mate? She is no ordinary girl but our mate. Do you know what that means? Who knows if they have had sex. Damn it, I can't imagine that my mate is involved with my younger brother,” I grunted and clenched both my fists. A wave of jealousy washed over me.

I looked at Leo, who was so quiet, and that got me more frustrated. I hated the way he was so calm in a situation like this. “Leo, say something; you can't just stand there and say nothing,” I complained.

He sucked in a deep breath and then looked my way. “Let's go downstairs; they are waiting for us,” he spoke nonchalantly, and that made me grit my teeth. “You can't be serious,” I spat, but he didn't say a word; instead, he just teleported from my presence. “Damn you,” I grunted, and then teleported.

I arrived in the dining room and met everyone at the table, including her. She was seated beside Austin, and the moment I arrived, she looked at me but instantly looked away. “Have your seat,” Leo spoke to me through the mind link because I was taking too long to take my seat.

“Claim her; she is ours,” my wolf urged me, but I ignored him and went for my seat, which was at the end of the table, opposite Leo’s.

I settled down and moved my gaze around the table, and my eyes met with those of my fathers. “Are you okay?” Father Darwin asked, and I nodded, but he didn't seem satisfied with my words. I saw him move his gaze to Leo, and then he asked Leo the same question, to which Leo gave him the same response.

“Let's eat, and after that, we can talk,” Mother said, and everyone agreed with her words.

Everyone's plates were filled with food, and we started eating, but I was forcing the food down my throat. My eyes interlocked with Leo’s, who was obviously forcing the food down his throat as he also didn't have an appetite to eat.

“We have to say it,” I told him through the mind link, but he didn't say a word; instead, he looked in the direction where she was seated. I also shifted my gaze to her and saw that she was comfortably eating her food. Unlike us, she didn't seem bothered by what was happening, which got me confused about whether she actually knows that we are mates.

I looked at Leo, who, by his expression, I could tell he was also having the same thought as me. He didn't say a word about it; instead, he looked away and went back to his food.

“Don't tell me you will sit there and do nothing, Theo. For goodness' sake, she is our mate. Say it to everyone and announce it to everyone,” my wolf howled in my head, which forced me to drop my cutlery heavily on the plate, gaining the attention of everyone.

I looked at my fathers and then at Mother before looking at Leo, who shook his head at me, signaling me not to say a word.

I ignored his warnings and fixed my gaze on her. Our gazes met, but then she quickly looked away. “Say it,” my wolf urged.

"I have something to say!” Olivia and I blurted those words together.
