The chat

Olivia's POV

It's past 1 am, and I couldn't sleep. I felt suffocated in my room, coupled with the fact that my wolf had been fighting with me.

Due to the severe headache I had, I decided to go downstairs and get some water. I left my room and took the stairs to the living room. When I arrived there, I saw a few guards positioned at each end of the living room. I ignored them and made my way to the kitchen. When I arrived in the kitchen, I took out a bottle of water, and then I felt someone behind me. I turned and saw that it was Lady Catherine.

She was dressed in her nightwear, and it seems, just like me, she came for water. “You couldn't sleep,” she asked, and I nodded while boiling with anger. “I also can't sleep, and there is no water in the fridge up in my room. It seems the servants forgot to fill up the fridge,” she said, and I hummed and watched her go over to the fridge.

As she turned her back to me, I wished I could bring out my fangs and claws and kill her right at that moment. Killing her would be so easy for me, but then I thought of the men in the living room, and I had to stop myself.

After she took her bottle of water from the fridge, she turned and smiled at me. “Since we both can't sleep, why don't we have a little chat?” She suggested in a friendly tone, and I had to fake a smile before nodding my head.

We both pulled out seats at the kitchen table and sat across from each other. I watched as she slowly drank her water, and after she did, she looked up at me and flashed a weak smile. “Why can't you sleep?” she asked curiously.

Because I Can’t wait to kill you!

“I can't sleep because it's my first time here,” I lied, and she smiled warmly at me. “I fully understand you,” she said and took another sip of her water, while I glared at her and decided to bring up a conversation. If I want to easily kill her, then I need to be friends with her.

“And why can't you sleep?” I asked and noticed she went silent for a moment before she sighed and looked at me. “I had a nightmare about a lady called Annabella,” she said, and my brow furrowed. I knew the Annabella she was referring to was my late mother.

“Who is this Annabella, and why would you have a nightmare of her?” I asked, acting ignorant and confused. Lady Catherine remained silent for a moment, as if she was thinking of what to say to me, or perhaps thinking of concocting lies.

“She was an enemy to this family,” she announced, and I clenched my fist on my lap. “It's a long story, and I don't want to go into details,” she murmured, and I scoffed within me. Of course, she couldn't say it; she wronged my mother, they all wronged my mother, and now their conscience is haunting them.

“If I may ask, what did you see in your dream?” I asked curiously, and she smiled weakly at me but shook her head. “Don't worry; it's nothing serious, and besides, it's just a dream,” she said, and I frowned, but quickly wiped it off my face. “If you say so,” I said and took another sip of my water.

A moment of silence filled the room until she looked up at me with a curious look. “You look so much like Annabella. If I didn't know that Annabella didn't have a child, I would have thought you were her daughter,” she said, and I forced out a laugh. “Really, people look alike these days. Did I tell you I mistook someone for Austin?” I lied, to change the topic.

“Really,” she asked, and I laughed. “Yes, I saw the person in a shopping mall. We were far from each other, so I was surprised to see Austin at the mall because I left him at home. But when I got closer to him, I realized it wasn't Austin, but he looked so much like him.” I fabricated the lies so much that the look in her eyes suggested that she believed it.

“You are right, people look alike these days,” she sighed, and I smiled while seething in rage. Heaven knows how I wished to kill her at this very moment.

“You are really a nice girl, and I enjoy talking to you, but let's go back to bed,” she said, and I hummed, and we both got up.

We left the kitchen and climbed the stairs. I bid her goodnight and entered my room. When I got in, I grunted and paced around the room. I wished I had killed her in the kitchen, but I knew that would be a foolish thing to do.

“Olivia, what about Alpha Theo and Leo, our mates? What about them? You can't keep lying and ignoring the fact that they are our destined mates,” my wolf spoke, and I snapped at her. “Remember why we are here; we are here for revenge, and my revenge is greater than any mate bond.” I muttered through clenched teeth. “There is nothing on Earth that will stop me from taking my revenge on this family. Each one of them will suffer for what happened to my mother. I won't let them live happily when I was deprived of the love of my mother. They grew up in a stable and happy home, but what about me? I grew up not knowing who my father was, and my mother died while giving birth to me… I gritted my teeth."

“I will destroy this home, and only painful tears will be heard in this home.” I muttered those words as a vow before going to bed.

The next morning was a Saturday, so I changed into my gym clothes and left my room. I took the stairs to the sitting room and met the servants busy with their duties. Each one that saw me bowed their heads to me before walking away. I hated it, and I couldn't wait to leave this place.

As I approached the exit door, a maid walked up to me. “Good morning, my lady. Are you going out for a workout?” she asked, and I nodded. “Why don't you use the gym room? There is a gym room in that corner; it's huge and has all that you would need for a workout,” she suggested, and I smiled at her. “Thank you, let me check it out,” I said, and she led me to the gym room.

When I got in, I realized she was right; the gym room was huge. Every piece of equipment was in the right place, and I smiled at the perfection of the place. “Thank you,” I said to the maid, who bowed and left.

After she left, I looked around and thought about where to start. After much deliberation, I decided to use the treadmill. I hopped on the treadmill and began running on it. After a few minutes, I got down and went for some weights. I lifted them up while admiring my well-shaped body. Aside from my eyes, my body was the most attractive thing about me. According to Austin, he said no man would walk past me without taking another look. Sometimes I just laughed at his words, but I knew he was right.

While I was still working on my arms, I noticed the gym door opened, and I moved my gaze to it and saw the two Alphas walking in.

“Shit!” I blurted out.

They seemed shocked to see me, and they didn't hide it on their faces. “Mates!” My wolf howled excitedly in my head, but I ignored her howling and stared back at them.

I noticed that Alpha Leo was staring into my eyes as if he wanted to bore into my soul, while Alpha Theo was moving his lustful gaze all over my body, checking me out. Instead of feeling a series of emotions all over me, I felt disgusted by it, “Don't you think it's disgusting to check out your brother's fiancée?” I blurted out, and I could see anger in his eyes.

He left the door, and stood before me. “You are my mate!” He spoke possessively, and I scoffed. “You are still dreaming, Alpha Theo. I thought by now you would be out of your daydream.” I said, and I saw him fumed with anger. Just when he wanted to say something, the door opened, and Austin walked in, bringing a smile to my face.

“Babe, you're here,” I said happily to Austin, walked away from Alpha Theo, and went over to Austin, who was beaming at me. “You're here, baby,” he said, and I nodded at him before sealing my lips with his. It was supposed to be just a peck, but with the two alphas staring at us, I decided to make it a deep kiss. I wrapped my hands around his neck and slid my tongue into his mouth, deepening the kiss.

I could feel their piercing glare at me, which made me deepen the kiss and release a soft moan before breaking it.

Austin smiled at me while I faked a smile and turned to the alphas, only to see them burning with rage. I held the gaze of Alpha Leo and smirked at him.

That was just the beginning.
