Chapter 4

Another hope had evolved deep within. The way uncle Joe encourages me gives me another hope to keep going despite everything I went through. I will prove them wrong about their impression towards my uncle. He is not as bad as what they thought about him. He is the kindest man I have ever met. Uncle Joe was better than dad, and I will prove to him that I am not a worse daughter at all.

Uncle Joe had taught me everything he knew for my wolf to appear. I was there to the point of giving up after many times we tried to trigger my wolf to come out, but just kept failing. However, uncle Joe still didn't give up on me. He did everything he could until the day came when I finally was able to shift. That day was the happiest day of my life. I met my other part; my wolf. Her name is Luna, and now I have someone to talk to when uncle Joe is not around me.

“Hey, sleepyhead! It's time to train!” A sharp voice of a woman suddenly called me. I opened my eyes and irritatedly got up from bed. Luna used to be my alarm clock every morning.

“Argh, I am still asleep, Luna.” I complained, but she chuckled.

“Uncle Joe kept banging the door since earlier. He's trying to wake you up.” She replied and I sighed.

My body was still tired from having a long training session yesterday, but when I remember those people who thought I was weak and wolf-less makes me feel energetic. Everything that I was doing was for them. I want to show them that I'm not useless.

Months have passed already, and I haven't heard anything from Red Moon Pack. There are times that my uncle intends to tell me something about the pack, so I always change the topic. I just couldn't talk about them for now. It makes my blood boil, especially when I remember Alpha Jace.

“Good morning, Uncle!” I kissed my uncle's cheek when I saw him at the kitchen table. He's patiently waiting for me.

“What took you so long?” He asked, but I didn't talk to him as I bit the apple. This place was really making me feel comfortable.

“We have a visitor, Margaux.” I suddenly stopped chewing my apple when uncle Joe spoke. My brows arched at what he said because I still couldn't believe what he was trying to say.

“Why? I thought… No one knows your place, Uncle?”

Uncle Joe smirked at what I asked from him, and it's making me nervous.

“Yes, but aside from one person. He can help you train, Margaux.”

“What about you? I thought you were the one to teach me?” I asked him, but my uncle just held both of my hands.

“I can't, Margaux. My learning about fighting was just limited. Jack could help you since he came from the pack. He is the son of my best friend, and I trusted him.” Uncle Joe said, which confused me.

“Jack?”

“The one and only.”

My head turned at the door when a male baritone voice of a man caught my attention. I could feel my eyes widened when I saw a man standing in front of our door. He's tall, handsome and at the age of twenty plus. I wouldn't expect that uncle Joe had known someone from the pack. All this time I thought, he had no connections anymore.

“It's my pleasure to have you here, Jack. I will entrust to you... My niece. She needs to know everything. My niece just got shifted. I have taught her some basic skills, but it's not enough. She needs to learn more.”

It feels like I couldn't hear my uncle's words clearly as my eyes laid onto Jack. His charismatic appeal caught me off guard and I was unable to form a word. Damn.

“He's not handsome.” I was awakened from fantasizing Jack when Luna had spoken up, which made me roll my eyes.

“I know this girl…” Jack uttered, and a bitter smile formed on my lips.

“Of course you would. I am the rejected mate of Alpha Jace. The one they regard as weak, wolf-less and—”

“She was the most beautiful woman I'd seen before in the Red Moon Pack.” Jack said, and I felt starstruck about that. My heart was beating so fast because I didn't expect to hear those words from him.

“Shake it off. I have no time for compliments.” I responded and didn't take his words seriously.

“I'll let you help my niece, Jack. She needs to be the strongest woman at Red Moon Pack before she comes back in there.” I sighed at what uncle Joe had said.

It's part of our agreement that once I shift to my wolf and once I'm already good at fighting, I should go back to the pack to do my vengeance. I have to face those people who considered me to be weak and wolf-less. They ruined my life and I will ruin theirs.

“That's a good idea, Margaux. I could help you train. So, when do we start?”

I smirked then at what Jack asked about. I can't wait to start the training and definitely, I will learn faster when my mentor is as handsome like Jack. And of course, I am doing this for me and my wolf. This is not just about vengeance, but also for our good sake.

After eating breakfast, Jack and I went to the backyard of uncle Joe to start the training. Jack began to teach me some basic skills of fighting and because I was still a beginner, I ended up kissing the ground. I was annoyed about that.

“Is that what you can do, Margaux? I thought you were a beta's daughter? How would you prove yourself to your mate who dumped you, to your family and to other werewolves if you won't fight back?” Jack asked, which made me gritted my teeth.

“I'm here, Margaux. We can do this together. Let's prove to them that we can make a change.” Luna's words motivated me to get up and face Jack back.

He's grinning at me. I climbed at him and never expected that I could blow him away when a strong force came out all of a sudden. The same force when I was still running in the forest.

“You have a special ability, Margaux, that no werewolf had from the pack.”
