Chapter 2

Alpha Jace walked away from me after he rejected me. I wanted to stop him, but I didn't even understand. My body doesn't seem to move. I feel like my whole body gets numb.

“Please stand up, Margaux.” Mom helped me to get up, and I hugged her tight. I have seen in my wet eyes how disgusted my brothers were towards me.

“All this time, you are aware that this bitch is wolf-less, Catherine!?” Dad's voice was scary. I know he's mad at this point, and I started to feel very nervous about it.

“Yes! I hide the truth because I want to protect our daughter, Greg! Margaux deserves to be treated well.” I bit my bottom lip at what mom had said. My father walked near my direction, and I was expecting him to comfort me, but I was wrong.

PAK!

I receive a smack to my face. A very painful one that almost blew me away. Tears fell to my eyes once again because I didn't expect dad to beat me up.

“You are such a shame in this family! I am a beta of the alpha, and I am scared that I would be thrown out of my position because of you!” He's furious and once dad lost his temper, Mom, and the rest of my siblings couldn't do anything to stop him.

“I apologize for being useless in this family, Dad. All my life, I keep forcing myself to be better for you. Despite the fact that I am wolf-less, I am still your daughter!” I hissed, but he shook his head.

“Not anymore. I don't want to see your face. You are not my daughter anymore because you are wolf-less, weak and a shame to this family! No wonder why you went home after school crying like a sh*t!” I bite my bottom lips so hard that it bleeds. My hands even turned into fists.

“I was expecting you to defend me, Dad because I am your child, but it seems like you are not treating me that way. Your power is the most important thing with you, and I don't see any reason to stay because you don't want me here!” I growled and that made my brothers laugh.

“Go ahead, Margaux. You can run now if you want to die. We all know the forest is the most dangerous place during the night!” Willow said, but I just grit my teeth.

“This scenario won't make me give up. I will do my best to settle this problem, Dad. I'll prove it to you.” I said, and left. My mother was still calling my name, but I didn't look away.

I have to follow Alpha Jace. I won't allow us to end up like that.

“I won't leave this place the way that Alpha Jace wants me to.” I convinced myself and continued walking to where Alpha Jace is. But before I could even reach his place, a group of wolves had surrounded me.

I started to panic when I saw them picking small stones. Everything was just too fast. They started throwing stones at me and I did nothing but cover my head, so it wouldn't hurt.

“What kind of wolf are you?”

“You are not allowed in here!”

“We won't allow a wolf-less creature who can't fight for the pack in the near future!”

“You're weak!”

“You're a monster!”

Those are the words I heard from the pack members as they continued to throw me with small stones. It hurts that much, but I can't do anything, but cry. They just stop from what they are doing when someone has spoken up, so I lifted my head.

“So, what are you still doing here?” Alpha Jace was in front of me, so I grabbed the chance to beg for him. I kneeled in front of him and made him grit his teeth.

“I don't want to leave this pack, Alpha Jace. Please don't do this to me. Whatever happened, I am still your wolf's chosen mate even though I have no wolf.” I uttered with my eyes pleading, but I was shocked when he pushed me. My back hit the ground and I started to cry once again. But what's the most painful thing I have discovered, my family was over there and watching the others to hurt me.

I looked at my mom's eyes and I knew how she wanted to help me, but Dad was beside her. She can't do anything, and I feel hopeless.

“Do you still have a shame left on you, Margaux? You are asking me to accept you? Why would I?” He asked, and I just bit my upper lips.

“Can't you understand? I don't want you to be my mate because you're weak, wolf-less and a shame of this pack. Everyone hated you, even your family. No one would love you because you have no difference to a monster!”

My heart shredded into pieces. There's nothing more painful than to know how the man you'd love would reject you twice.

No one helped me to get up. I just learned to stand up on my own and face them. My body still hurts, but I have forced myself to face them all.

“I committed my life, serving this goddamn pack. I have high expectations for you, Alpha Jace, but you are no different from the other evil creatures!” I growled and made him grit his teeth.

“That's enough, Margaux!” Dad tried to stop me, but he couldn't.

“You are not different from them.” I continued while staring at him deep into his eyes.

“I am just doing my duty, Margaux. I am an Alpha King and I needed a mate who is strong and also the one who has a wolf, which you didn't have. Now, I want you to leave this pack because no one does want you here.”

Tears were about to fall, but I held it back.

“I will remember this day, Alpha Jace of the Red Moon Pack, when you reject me. I just hope you won't regret it in the end. You don't have to force me because I will leave this pack voluntarily.”

As I said those words, I turned my body to the forest to leave. I don't want to keep hurting myself. I know they won't accept me for who I am, and leaving this pack is my last option.

“Be careful, mate.”

Alpha Jace teased me, but I didn't mind it anymore because I ran through the forest with tears flowing in my eyes.
