The starry night was illuminated by the moon, but Hadley felt gloomy as she looked at it. She was devastated and didn't know what to do.

After she left the party while chasing after Maurice, she had this unsettling feeling that something was going wrong, and she didn't even know what that could be.

“Are you not coming in, ma'am?" Hadley heard one of the maids ask, and she beamed her a smile telling her that she was fine.

“No, I am going to wait for my husband," Hadley replied, asking the maid not to worry about her.

Yes, Maurice wasn't home even though they left the party together. He was kind of her to ask her to enter the car but immediately he dropped her off the zoomed off without saying a thing.

How was she supposed to explain to him when he wasn't even giving her a chance to do that?
