She Stepped On His Shoe

I looked at the woman that claimed to be my fiance's cousin or should I say my sister's fiance and wondered if she had lost some screw in her head.

Because whatever she was saying doesn't sound plausible.

"Did you go around lying to people because you want to be relevant?" Hadley asked her and she saw her shocked.

Yeah, she should be because she hasn't even started. She knew people like that don't go around trying to benefit anyone but themselves so, she knew she had an ulterior motive.

"I don't know why you will go around trying to tarnish your brother's image but don't do that, it's really bad," Hadley says, the girl looked at her confused but when she saw her hand, she smiled.

"Why did you think you were wearing a glove, to begin with?" she asked and Hadley looked at her with questions. "That's because my cousin can not stand your touch and being with you might even make him sick".

After what the girl says Hadley got lost in thoughts, if her twin sister is going to marry that man then how would she cope? What about their sex life? Hadley thought and she blushed at that thought.

Is it even a love marriage?

Hadley looked at the girl that looks like she has achieved a greater cause but she wasn't going to give her that fulfillment.

"Thanks for telling me but I do not think you have to because I have already been informed," Hadley replied and the girl's face twisted in confusion.

Was her guess wrong?

Hadley looked at the confused expression on the girl's face and she smirked; she knew the girl wasn't telling her things just because she likes her but for an ulterior motive.

She knows people like that don't go around doing things that benefit people she knows that much.

"Since little Miss is done I would be leaving now," Hadley says, turning around and thanking her stars that she did not reply to her like the gangster she was but the girl's annoying voice came again.

"Little miss? Miss Ella forgot my name so soon". Hadley heard that and she sighed in exhaustion. Looks like they did not do their preparation well.

They should have given her a name list even if it was going to be for a day.

"What do ….," she was saying but a voice cut her off.

"Ella darling," a woman called and she turned to see her father's wife, Karen, the one that raised her other twin after they snatched her away from her mother.

"Mom," Hadley called awkwardly and she knew it would be a bad idea considering being an actress. She was really bad at acting.

"I am sorry I was late for the party, something came up at home," she says, enveloping Hadley in a hug and Hadley knew it was awkward for both of them.

Hadley's interest was piqued when she heard what Karen said about something coming up at home.

Maybe Ella has returned, she thought.

They both made their way into the hall and some people greeted the woman.

"I know you are not used to the way of the high society but don't go looking for trouble," Karen says through gritted warning Hadley but still maintaining a sweet smile because of the onlookers.

Hadley smirks at the woman's words and she knows if she doesn't say the piece of her mind she might go crazy.

"I don't know your definition of looking for trouble but I do know you guys are trouble," she says and the woman gasped hearing that but Hadley wasn't done.

"Badging into my house this morning and making me a substitute for your precious daughter was enough trouble, and you. should be thankful I didn't bail out on you but that's going to be the height of, don't insult me," Hadley warned and Karen's face turned green with anger. "Smile mom, you don't want to tell people that I am not your real daughter but a substitute," she cautioned and Karen wondered what kind of person she was.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to call the couple of tonight to cone and grace us with their presence on the dance floor," the anchor announced and at that time Hadley's head did lots of math.

"Shit I can't dance," she panicked and her father glared at her. "What do you mean that you can dance? Does your mother not enroll you in a dance class?" Roberto was pissed but his mother glared at him.

They can't be caught, no one must know Ella was not the one at the party.

"It's just a dance, people could make a lot of mistakes no one would know," she says but the grandma's voice rang.

"Ella is a good dancer," she replies. The reply was short but it passed the message she wanted.

Her twin was a good dancer and as a fill-in she can't mess up but before she could ask what she was going to do she saw a hand with a glove in front of her.

"May I have this dance?" he asked like a gentleman and Hadley felt like fainting.

She can't dance to save her life but now she has to dance like a pro.

"We all have to just hope she doesn't step on her gown," Roberto says looking at the retreating just- found daughter.

After getting on the dance floor Hadley heaved a lot of sighs trying to get herself calmed but she was not having it.

"You know how we do it, Miss Ella," Maurice says before they start dancing and Hadley gawks at him in shock.

They have danced before? That means she was going to get caught.

They started dancing slowly and Hadley was already calm.

She looked at the handsome face of the man in front of her and she smiled.

God if he wasn't so grim she would have gushed so much over him.

Maurice looked at the woman in front of him and he wondered why she had been acting weird today.

She is really weird.

She was already daydreaming and she was surprised she hadn't stepped on her gown but good things didn't last.

"Ahooo!!!" Maurice sneezed loudly and he glared at Hadley immediately she wondered what she did wrong for the ice prince to be glaring at her.

"You are too close and you are also stepping on my shoe," Maurice sneered and Hadley looked at their legs to confirm his claims and true her glittering stiletto heels were stepping on his shoe.

Now she was wondering why she had stepped on her shoe.

"I am…," but before she could say anything she saw Maurice leave the dancing floor abruptly but she noticed he had already removed his gloves and was scratching his hands.

The people around started whispering among themselves about Maurice's leaving the dancing floor and Hadley was sure of what they were saying.

It must have been lonely for him, she thought but it was none of her business. She was leaving anyway because it was her twin sister's headache.

"It's nice meeting you, Mr. Elliot," Hadley mumbled still standing on the dance floor not moving.
