ARE YOU NOT ELLA?

Hadley looked at the man that was just staring at her suspiciously and she wondered if something was wrong with him.

Is he deaf?

"I am sorry Miss but I don't understand what you are saying," the man says with a soothing voice that suddenly makes Hadley self-aware.

How does a man's voice sound so smooth while mine sounds like a frog's?

"You.. You bumped into me and my ice cream fell as a result," Hadley explained and she thanked the heavens her voice didn't betray her.

The man in front of us was messing with her head. She has never met a handsome blond before but the man in front of her looks extraordinary.

"Ohh sorry I didn't notice I was actually in a rush, did you get hurt?" He asked, his face laced with worry and Hadley let out an embarrassed smile.

"No, I wasn't hurt?" She answered and the man looked at her in shock. "You aren't hurt?" He asked not believing that she could go to that extra length because of ice cream but what he doesn't know is that Hadley was pettier than he could comprehend.

"So you mean you are here because of an ice cream?" He inquired and Hadley nodded shyly.

God, why is this city guy polite? Hadley pondered.

"Then since you are here then I should definitely pay for it but I am here to meet someone so….," The handsome man was saying but Hadley quickly cut him off by turning him around and using him as a shield.

"God, why the fuck is she here?" Hadley wondered looking at Maurice's cousin Carolina that was on the opposite street.

Hadley eyes squinted anxiously looking at the girl and she started looking for a way out as she used the man as a shield because how was she going to her what she was doing in one of the busy streets in the city when she should be home with her husband?

"What are you doing Miss?" The handsome blond man asked Hadley but she hushed him out.

"Shhhhh don't draw attention to me," Hadley hushed and her eyes followed Carolina till she was out of sight and Hadley sighed in relief. The man groaned in frustration not knowing what the woman was up to.

"Pfft that was a narrow escape," Hadley mutters coming out of the man's back and the man looked at her weirdly.

Hadley looked at the man that was giving her weird eyes and she knew he was expecting an explanation for her crazy actions.

"I just saw someone that should not see me," she lied through her teeth but it was not a lie, because Carolina was Maurice's cousin and it won't be ideal if she sees her with a man.

That would ruin her elegant reputation.

"Ohhh then since you are here we should go...," the man was saying but Hadley cut him off immediately

"I have to go now," Hadley cuts the man off hurriedly when she sees John coming to her side and she knows she was already out for a long.

She won't want to get on the grumpy man's bad side.

"What an interesting woman," the man mumbled amused by the girl's craziness and his eyes followed Hadley's retreating back till she went out of sight.

"We are really pleased to have you here ma'am," the woman who introduced herself as the house supervisor welcomed Hadley and she smiled innocently not knowing how to react.

She was received warmly when she got to Maurice's mansion and Hadley wondered where Maurice got his bad attitude from the people that surrounded him.

"After you settle in I am going to introduce the workers to you," the woman says, politely and Hadley smiled.

"Don't introduce the workers to me, I won't be staying here for long," Hadley mumbled silently and the woman gave her a skeptical look wondering what she was saying.

"Sasha take the madam to her room while we prepared her meals," the woman instructed one of the maids and she quickly led Hadley through the stairs.

Hadley was taken to her room and she knows she won't be sleeping with Maurice because her room looks lively enough definitely not resembling the dark personality of the man. Her room decor was amazing and she can't help but gape helplessly at it.

"If you need anything ma'am please call for me," a person behind Hadley said and she smiled in return.

After Hadley freshened up she made it to her bed and immediately she back fell on the soft bed she felt so blissful.

"This is the kind of life you have been living all this while Ella, I really pity even though it seems blissful it is still very suffocating," Hadley says as she starts drifting slowly to sleep.

Hadley's phone blared up and Hadley cursed loudly before standing up from her bed and walking grumpily to the vanity table that her phone was on but she noticed she wasn't familiar with the caller

"Hello," Hadley breathes into the phone but the other person on the other side of the phone.

"What's this? What's going on," Hadley wondered looking at the phone that was on silent and she pondered what the other person was not saying anything.

"Are you not going to say anything if…..," Hadley was saying but her voice trailed off immediately suspecting the caller.

"Ella?" Hadley takes a guess and the person's sigh from the other side of the phone confirms her suspicion.

"Ella you dare stand me up and make me a substitute for you," Hadley blows out immediately knowing it was her.

"I am sorry I would explain everything to you later but before then don't trust anyone," Ella says at the other end of the phone and the line went off immediately.

"Ella, Ella," Hadley called repeatedly but Maurice's voice cut her off.

"What are you saying? Are you, not Ella?" Maurice's cold voice rang out and Hadley's body was stiff and her phone fell from her hand crashing to the ground.

What was she going to say?
