Chapter 21

“It’s too windy now, so I’ll send you back.” Charlie had already stood up. He then took off his coat and put it on me.

My head was still in a daze because of Dylan, and I did not even have the time to think. After being stunned for a few seconds, I replied, “Sure.”

Charlie asked if I could still walk.

Even if I could not, I still had to say that I could. Otherwise, would he have to carry me?

We walked for a while and finally arrived downstairs. I immediately saw that Dylan was leaning at the edge of the flower bed while smoking. He raised his head and looked at me mischievously.

I felt chills in my heart. Why did I feel like I was having an affair?

“He’s my cousin,” I explained to Charlie.

Charlie’s smile froze for a moment. After a few seconds, he handed my purse to me. “Do you need me to send you upstairs?”

“There’s no need.” I quickly rejected Charlie because I did not know when Dylan, that ticking time bomb, would explode.
