Chapter One
Demonic ObsessionSavannah Ga Daniel recalled what took place so long ago. Disgust welled up inside him knowing how she, a mere girl, had played him. It transpired during the one small amount of time when he was almost human. When he discovered her in the eighteen hundreds, she took his breath away. “Norman, when I met her, I felt the magic.” Smiled Daniel. “Master, you loved a woman?” asked Norman.“Sure, doesn’t everyone once in their life?” Said, Daniel, as he stared at the little rat who called him forth. “Norman let me tell you the history of a strong demon who discovered a witch that did not understand her potential.” Norman sat to listen to the tale Daniel had to reveal. Daniel knew he would be stronger invincible with her energy. When he set his eyes on her, he became lost. He saw before him a beautiful petite woman with her hair long, the color of wheat, and eyes resembling a pale blue sea. She looked as though made of porcelain, but she was tougher than the finest metal. When Daniel heard her name, it sounded as a gift. They called her Emma, and he felt her strength, her power. “I will have to be careful this time. She differs from the others I have taken.” Daniel thought to himself seeing Emma gracefully spin, arms wide, laughing as the children whizzed by her. She commanded beauty, grace, and energy without any effort. He couldn’t just promise her the moon and stars for a song. “Excuse me,” said Daniel with his hat in his hands. He wanted her power and to control her, but first, he must win her trust before taking what he wanted. He watched for a second as he saw how she moved and flowed through the outdoor kitchen. She made certain the people from the village were well cared for at all times. Seeing others come to her when they had caught something. He figured out how he would meet her. He pulled out a silver-tipped blade from the sheath he wore at his waist. Daniel took his hand pressing the blade into the flesh of his upper arm making a deep gash allowing the blood to drip down his right arm. He made sure it mimicked an arrow wound by making sure bits and pieces of rock and silver would be discovered in the wound. The only thing he needed was puppy dog eyes with the look of pain in them. Emma was standing at the fireplace tossing in different herbs, grinding them in an old wooden pestle and mortar that had once belonged to her mother. “Yes? What can I do for you kind Sir?” Emma turned around so fast her hair smacked Daniel in the face. “Oh my! I am so sorry. Are you ok?” When Daniel didn’t respond, she noticed his arm was bleeding. “Oh, my. What happen to you?” “Oh, this is great,” thought Daniel as he grabbed his eye. “I am fine. It was my first time hunting, and it looks like I am not proficient at it.” He kept her talking as she helped him toward a bench. “Let me see your eye then I will bandage you up.” Emma smiled at him. He could tell she felt sorry for him and he knew he could take her right then, but something stopped him. For a second, he felt butterflies in his stomach. Daniel wasn’t sure what he should do, but he played it out. “What’s your name?” Daniel asked. Emma regarded the man and his handsome eyes. They were deep green that made one feel at peace. Something about him that intrigued her. “My name is Emma Quinn.” Emma pulled the linen bandages from the small table at her hip. She bit her lip out of habit as she unrolled it. Catching Daniel’s eye, Emma turned to work on him. She didn’t see the smile that spread on his face when her fingertips grazed Daniel’s upper arm. She heard the tiny gasp that even startled Daniel. He could feel the intense power that lay quiet inside her. Oh, how he wanted that power. It would be easy to take Emma’s power and leave her lifeless body in the woods without a second thought. But not before he wiped out the entire village just for amusement.Daniel took his time showing up at her door often with his hat in hand. “Good day, Ms. Quinn.” “Oh hello. What can I do for you?” Emma saw he had wildflowers in his hands. “Oh, how pretty those are!” “They are for you. I hope you don’t think this is forward.” Daniel stumbled as he shoved the flowers into Emma’s hands. He brought her flowers and different herbs he had “found” in the woods. Daniel wanted her to keep up her healing so she could bring her powers to her even faster. They would walk and talk with each other. Daniel even allowed the other villagers to get to know of him, but there was a select few that didn’t trust him. No problem. He made them disappear easy enough. “Daniel, I know you are not telling me something.” She said as the wind ruffled her dress. The walk through the forest glade had been pleasant until then. Daniel frowned as he watched her eyes glance away from his face. How could he tell her of his powers and his need for souls? These thoughts burned inside
One year laterIt wasn’t long before her wedding day came. The sun was shining as if it agreed to the upcoming union. Emma didn’t know that her coven had been working all night. They were making her a gown salvaged from her mother’s wedding gown. Hearing a knock at the door and watching as the door open, she wasn’t surprised to see her coven on her special day.“Emma, we have something for you.” Replied Anna.Ushering them in Emma walked over to the table that held her most prized possession. Anna walked softly toward Emma’s table. Emma walked over and touched the soft cloth and pulled the ribbon that held it together. Emma ran her fingers across delicate lace and was in awe of the beautiful beadwork on the dress. She could feel the magic that had been woven in the dress, and she knew the strength she would draw from it. “Anna, I have to talk to Edwin. He has to know what will happen if we do this.” Said Emma. “Yes, I agree.”Emma made her way toward the barn that Edwin worked out o
Chapter Three Enter the Beast Daniel walked down the street dressed in a dove gray fitted suit and tie with his hair was picture perfect. He was searching for the right place and the right people. He needed for his demons to fill. Hearing loud music from the clubs, he sauntered toward the bright red neon sign beckoning people off the sidewalk. People came spilling out, yelling and laughing. Most of them were obviously drunk, he knew this was going to be easy. “Just pick any fool off the street.” He thought to himself. He took his time and when he spotted the right one, he almost giggled like a child. Standing by the stairs, he saw three girls talking and laughing. One red-haired and two blonds and they were dressed for the evening. No one paid attention to the black wisp of smoke that hung in the alley between the parking lot and the building until it was ready. A bald man came out of the back door of the club. Drake was a bar tender back at the club, and he was p

Chapter Five Demonic Pleasures Daniel walked down the hallway of the local hospital enjoying his handwork with every step he took. He could feel the anger and the sorrow seeping from everyone around him. There have been a few times in the last few months that his demons ended up dead by some powerful magic. He traced the source of the magic and that lead him to her. Daniel had been searching for her, and he would have missed her if it wasn’t for the low hum of power that radiated from Megan’s soul. I know what is wrong with you.” She whispered. Sara sniffed the bird as Megan had bent down to scoop it up and cradle it to her chest. She began a quite chant that brought her strength to the top as she twitched her wrist and passed two fingers lightly of the broken wing. With a chirp, she let the bird go. Megan smiled as she watched it fly higher and higher. Megan was so lost in her thoughts she didn’t pay attention to the sound of running footsteps that happened to become louder. Memories of Dreams Wondering upstairs to look through some of her mom's stuff, hoping there was something written down about these demons and deaths. The big question was what they were looking for. Opening her wooden cabinet, Megan pulled a box out that was filled with notebooks. Her mom loved writing and would write what she had always thought were fairy tales. One notebook she opened was about a mortal girl and a demon falling in love, which started a chain of evil. She read how the family died one by one and how the only survivor was one boy with clear blue eyes. It was written how he would have to fight the darkness that roamed the earth. He would be the one to save us, but he will need help from others that control the elements. One would master water and the other handle earth. Soon, fire and air would join them. Seeing that the story was written in her mother's handwriting, she took everything as fact because could never remember when her mother had lied to her growing up.
