They made it to the sidewalk when she noticed a tiny baby bird beneath the bushes. Poor thing was trying to fly away, but she could tell it had a broken wing. “Shh, little one. I know what is wrong with you.” She whispered. Sara sniffed the bird as Megan had bent down to scoop it up and cradle it to her chest. She began a quite chant that brought her strength to the top as she twitched her wrist and passed two fingers lightly of the broken wing. With a chirp, she let the bird go. Megan smiled as she watched it fly higher and higher. Megan was so lost in her thoughts she didn’t pay attention to the sound of running footsteps that happened to become louder. The kid must have had her head down because she didn’t see Megan until it was too late. Megan was shocked as the girl seemed to have flipped over h
Demon’s Revenge Megan woke up in a dark room. What the hell? Last time she checked she just flipped out at work. People are going to think she was crazy, and the others would fear her. She tried to fight Sharon who she could have sworn she was a demon. Stale air made it had to breathe, so she wanted to get out and to make matters worse it was pitched black. Dropping to her knees, she figured out that they must have given something to put her out, “Great” she thought. Megan knew that she had to get out of there, but her head was swimming. She found a wall and felt around hoping for a doorknob or even a window. Memories of Dreams Wondering upstairs to look through some of her mom's stuff, hoping there was something written down about these demons and deaths. The big question was what they were looking for. Opening her wooden cabinet, Megan pulled a box out that was filled with notebooks. Her mom loved writing and would write what she had always thought were fairy tales. One notebook she opened was about a mortal girl and a demon falling in love, which started a chain of evil. She read how the family died one by one and how the only survivor was one boy with clear blue eyes. It was written how he would have to fight the darkness that roamed the earth. He would be the one to save us, but he will need help from others that control the elements. One would master water and the other handle earth. Soon, fire and air would join them. Seeing that the story was written in her mother's handwriting, she took everything as fact because could never remember when her mother had lied to her growing up.
Daniel watched as the human angrily climbed into his red and chrome Corvette the changing of Eric began. The 1969 apple red stingray corvette roared to life as Eric backed his baby out of her driveway and made his way back home. Oh, he will make her pay. Nothing like this would have happened if he had a hold on her earlier, but that was his mistake, and he will take it. With that, he gunned the car the last few miles to his house. He never saw Daniel follow him home, watching and waiting for the right time to take him. Eric pulled into his driveway and throw his car into park. He sat there for a few minutes as the rain just pounded the ground around him. He was losing control, and he didn’t like it one bit. Eric walked into his house, and he always admired his modern style house. Clean lines and organized is what he thrived on. Now Megan threatened his flow, and he wasn’t going have it. It was a jolt when Daniel entered Eric. Daniel felt his new meat suit and how much the human was r
One of Us Thomas had managed to get some sleep then headed to the department before going back home. He looked at the clock, and it read 5:30 am in bright red numbers. Easing himself out of bed Thomas took one more glance at Megan. He kissed her softly on the cheek then made his way out of the door knowing that he would be back later that day. Sticking his hands in his pocket, he felt the glass cross his mother had given him. Thomas had forgotten to show her the glass piece he had found, but he knew now that would have to wait for later. But he wanted to do some research on it to find what it does and maybe find out why his family hid for all these years because he felt like his mom left out some important information and he was going to find it even if he had to go to the source. Thomas walked into his grandmother’s room where she cast her spells that required focus. That was one of the best things that Megan had brought to Thomas. His family had the ability to make things happen
Bloody Mary Mary knew that the bodies had been stacking up as a lazy tech pushed it toward the elevator. She could tell by the look of indifference on his face where he was going. The sound of popping gum echoed the hallway as she walked unnoticed as she headed toward the stairs. Stopping at the morgue door and with a shiver, Mary slid through the door quietly and stood in the shadows waiting for the drop off the dead body. The best part was the place was totally empty, and she knew the kid would wheel the body in initial the paperwork and disappear. Mary had been a nurse for 25 years and she came and went as she pleased, but today she wanted to see her handy work up close. Her first one happened to be patient, and it really was an accident many years ago. When Mary found later what landed the guy in the hospital, she started to think of it as a public service. The man was accused of beating his kid, and his foot had slipped. That’s when he had landed at the bottom of the steps br
What is Real Megan had to talk to Eric. After she had spent so much time with Thomas, she felt like they had known each other for years. When they had kissed, she felt whole, and that was something she hadn’t in years. She loved the way his hands felt on her body and how carefree it made her feel. She didn’t have to wait long because there was a knock at her front door that brought her out of her haze. She still had a smile when she went to open it, there stood Eric. A feeling of Déjà vu took over Megan as she watched Eric standing there. She couldn’t tell if this was a dream or if this time, she was awake. Megan knew either way it was time to put an end to their relationship. Her love for Thomas had erased any feelings she ever had for Eric. His smile disappeared as Eric walked inside having trouble controlling his anger. “Eric, before you say anything…” She knew her words sounded hollow. She was hoping he was buying the apology. Meanwhile, Eric stood there seething with anger,
Chapter 13Coming of Age Two weeks later Sage was sitting in a dark room with three computers humming. She watched as her printer spit out page after page of her report that she needed to give her contact. The room had a faint smell of flowers, and the place was littered with water bottles. In a crystal vase held some old flowers that look like they could be dried. On her desk, there were two pictures. One with her mom and one with her dad. They both gave her comfort through the day, so she kept them right there. Sage was in an old one-bedroom farmhouse that her dad had found for her to do her computer work. He told her when she was younger that he didn’t mind her computer crap everywhere. So, one day he took her to a house from the ’20s and told her to get to work. He wanted her to learn how to put something back together no matter what. Her dad, David Blackwater had taught her many different things from Jit Jitu’s to hack into one of the hardest computer systems, namely Homeland s
