Tasha smiled, and I couldn't guess her true feelings.

I smiled, "Good. Tasha, you know about my miserable marriage, yet you still let Derek enter your house. You betrayed me, and why are you still pretending to be my friend?"

Tasha picked up the cup and took a sip of coffee. I smelt the mellow fragrance of the coffee as she opened her mouth.

"Aren't you the one pretending to be my best friend?"

Tasha seemed to emphasize that it was all my fault for what had happened.

I was floored by Tasha's words. I opened my mouth and wanted to say something. However, I didn't know what to say.

"What do you mean?"

I raised my voice and asked, after a long time.

"Cynthia, do you think I don't know about your malicious thoughts?"

I gasped and looked into Tasha's deep, unfathomable eyes.

Tasha stirred the cup repeatedly with a coffee spoon. The sound of the spoon clinking the cup made me shudder.
