I chewed on my food slowly and didn't know what reason I could use to put Lucas off.

In the end, I decided to keep silent.

"Why aren't you talking?" Lucas continued to ask.

I lowered my head and kept silent, ignoring him. He had no choice but to give up.

After the meal, he took me to a nearby mall.

"You need to get some new clothes," Lucas said and sized me up.

I said with dissatisfaction, "Why? I don't need any new clothes."

I didn't have much savings for new clothes.

Lucas raised his eyebrows and said disdainfully, "Look at the clothes you are wearing now. They are cheap and prove that you have bad taste in clothing."

"How can you judge me like that?" I complained.

"If it was only for yourself, I wouldn't care about it." Lucas snorted coldly. "But you are going to be my secretary and represent me. How will my clients see me if you wear such shabby clothes?"

I picked some less expensive dresses
