I canceled all my appointments, and at that moment, I just wanted to go back home to see my son and hold him close. I left the office that day and ordered my driver to take me back to the pack.
The pack from the city was a four-hour ride from here. I sat back as the driver pulled out of the company, and the ride began. After five hours, I was back at the pack.As soon as I got to my father's house, I stepped out of the car and walked in. I opened the door to see Marcel playing with his toys. I smiled as he turned and took me in, his eyes widened as he began to run to me.“Mummy!!!” He screamed, spreading his hands for my acceptance. I wasted no time as I scooped down to his level, and he ran into my arms. I knew he must have been surprised to see me. I had told him the previous day that I would be gone for mostly a week.As soon as he was in my arms, I kissed his face all over, earning a giggle.“You lied to me!” He screamed at me as he giggled again.“No, my love, I came back for some urgent matter,” I whispered in his ears.“Will you stay a while, pleaseeee?” he begged, and I giggled and nodded.I carried him into the house, and it wasn’t long until I saw my father coming out from the kitchen. He was wearing an apron, and for his status, it looked funny. Ever since my reunion with my father, he had loved Marcel and given him all the attention. Marcel didn’t have to feel he didn’t have a father because my dad had made sure he felt so among.I know he was trying to make up for the years he lost in my life. When I resumed work, I had suggested he gets a nanny, but he was so against it and took responsibility for all of Marcel's needs. Sometimes he pays me no mind and gives all his attention to Marcel.“Hey kiddo,” he said, and I could smell the aroma of the buns he was holding.“Hi, daddy,” I said as I walked to him and landed a kiss on his cheek, with Marcel in my arms. He looked at me, and he knew immediately something was wrong as I nodded at him.“Grandpa, can I have my buns now, please?” Marcel cried out in my arms, and we laughed at him.“Yes, little man, let me keep it on the table for you,” my dad replied as he walked over to a little dining table and placed a plate there. Without asking, I let Marcel out of my arms, and he wasted no time running to his seat.“Enjoy your buns, my love,” I called out as he put it in his mouth, while looking up at me with a smile.“Thanks, grandpa, thanks, mum,” he replied.Soon as we knew he was set and wouldn’t need anything, my father held my hands as he led me to the living room.“I can tell from the moment you stepped in here you look like shit,” he said. I broke down immediately. My father knew and saw the weakest part of me. After he found me, I was a mess. I would cry every day out of pain or rejection, and he would be there to comfort me. I didn’t even have time to look after Marcel as I was depressed, but my father stepped in for us.“Hey, hey, hey…what’s wrong?” He asked, and I held him while crying gently. I didn’t want to get Marcel's attention.“She came, father, I saw her,” I said.“Who came?” My father asked.“Ravana, she came looking for a job at the company,” I let out, and I could see how shocked he was. From there, I let everything out, telling him everything from the beginning. When I was done, he comforted me.“You know, you can send her away,” he suggested.“No, father, she must pay for all the things she had done to me,” I said angrily.“Child, don’t get lost in this revenge theory, it wouldn’t end well. Leave it to the goddess to serve her dish, and don’t get involved in it,” he advised, but I was far gone in my quest for revenge. My father was a calm man and someone who believed in the will of the goddess, even when he found me. He had all the potential and wealth to attack Enzo’s pack, but he refused. He had said he left it for the goddess to deal with him. But I wasn’t like that. I was going to seek my revenge and watch her suffer in my very eyes.“No, dad, I have made a choice,” I replied, putting an end to him trying to change my mind.“Okay, child, I respect your decision,” he replied.“Which reminds me…Enzo called this morning,” he added, and I sat up at the name Enzo. What would he be calling father for?“What for?” I spat out with so much hate. I knew that Enzo had no idea where I was and who had taken me that night. My father made sure of that. He wanted to make sure I had my peace, and Marcel grew up in a peaceful environment.“Turns out, he has a large number of pack members, and his pack is broke,” Dad replied, and I nodded. Everyone knows that Enzo had picked up a fight with every pack there is. He had defeated three pack Alphas in the past five years and added his pack to theirs, and now he was out of resources to keep the pack going.“Well, serves him right,” I replied. Without asking, I knew my father didn’t help him out. Ever since what had happened, my father had built a large, formidable wall around his pack, and to add to that, my father had the wealthiest pack there is. Though our pack members were fewer in numbers, we were also warrior wolves.I stood up, about to go to my room for a quick bath and nap, but just as I stood up, my father held my hands.“Child,” he called out, and I looked at him. His eyes held a little bit of guilt.“What’s wrong, dad?” I asked.“I received another call today again,” he said, and I froze. Could it be Enzo who had found me?“Is it Enzo? Has he found me?" I panicked. My dad stood up and held me.“No, it’s not,” he replied, and I calmed down.“My old friend called. He was the Alpha of the snow wolves,” dad added.I became calm and confused. Why was he so scared to tell me what was going on?“Have a seat, child,” he said, and I took a chair, curiosity killing me at the moment. My father took a seat beside me and reached out to take my hands.“I want you to listen to me and don’t say a word till I’m done,” he requested, and I nodded.“My old friend called because he has a son who is an alpha, Leo. Leo's mate rejected him when he was young, and it’s been years. He made me a proposal for you, child. He thinks if you two are mates, it would be good for both our packs,” my father said, and my body stilled.“No, father, you know I’m still healing. I don’t think I can stand another man again,” I responded, shaking my head.“I won't be around forever. My bones are getting weaker by the day. I want to leave this earth knowing you're in safe hands. Our walls can’t keep us safe forever. Enzo is growing stronger every day, and he is just next door. I have pissed him off so much, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he attacks to take everything from me. I would rather die than see him do so,” my father responded, and for the first time, I could see how vulnerable he was.He was doing this for my sake and Marcel’s. I knew he was right. We all know Enzo would be coming for us soon, and we’ll have to be ready. Leo has the largest pack that rivals Enzo two times, and that would put everyone in the right position.“Okay, father, I’ll think of this,” I replied as my hands massaged my head.“Oh, you better, because they will be here in the evening,” he responded, and my eyes widened.Camilla’s POVIt was evening, and I had just been informed that Alpha Leo and his family had arrived in our territory, and Father had gone to escort them. As much as I am against this union, I know it is necessary for the safety of the pack, my child, and myself.I stood in front of the mirror, checking myself one more time. I wore an off-shoulder dress that reached my knees, and I had my hair pulled up to show off my long neck.I hoped the night would bring more grace and joy from the goddess. I had heard rumors about the Snow Wolves Alpha, none of which were negative. The door swung open, and I knew without a doubt it was Marcel. He was the only one who barged into my room without bothering to knock, not that it mattered. He dashed in, a toy clutched tightly in his little hands."Mummy, look!" he exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement.I turned towards him, a smile spreading across my face. "What is it, sweetheart?" I asked, bending down to his level. With a mischievous grin, Ma
Camilla’s POVI went up to my room and slammed the door behind me. Just as I went in, I heard a knock on my bedroom door.I knew from the scent that it was Leo. I wanted to turn him away, but it wouldn’t be nice.“Come in,” I called out. The door opened and he came in, smiling at me.“Hey!” He said.“Hi,” I responded. We probably were behaving like teenagers. I was shy, but he seemed bold enough to approach me.“Can I sit?” He asked.“Sure,” I responded, and he sat on my bed.“Look, I know it’s awkward, but I want to apologize for what my mother said in the dining room,” he apologized, just as I had expected.“It’s fine. One can be judged by saying how they should feel,” I answered.“No, what she did was wrong, and I wouldn’t stand for it. You must have had a misunderstanding with your mate, and that's fine. It’s not in her place to judge you,” he responded, and I knew he was a sensible wolf.“What can I say? Thanks,” I responded. We sat there awkwardly for what seemed like an eternity
Camilla’s POVI watched her freeze from my outburst. What does she mean by she was not the Luna of the pack?“I want every detail, or you can get your stuff and get out of my company,” I said angrily.“After the Alpha’s mate abandoned him, he took me in as Luna and I assumed my responsibility in the pack. Three years ago, he kicked me out of the position and left me to fend for myself. I was used and abandoned to fend for myself. Please give me this chance, no one on pack lands would hire me. Please, I really need this job,” she pleaded, and I held back my laughter. It was obvious she was trying to get pity from me, but I was far from that. I can’t even believe her story as it may not be true, or she was looking for a way to get me to favor her, but she got it all wrong. She would never have my pity or sympathy.“I have heard you, Ravana, and my condition hasn't changed. You are to follow whatever instructions that are being given to you in this office. If you do not like this, you're
Camilla’s POVI could feel my eyes widen. I knew of Enzo and Ravana's relationship from the beginning, but I never knew how deep it was. Hearing this made me hate them all the more.Enzo must have known how hurt Leo would be, and he took his mate right in front of him. It is one of the most painful things that could happen to anyone. I saw Leo, and I knew he was strong. One could tell he had just told me his worst experience, and yet he remained strong.“I…I…..” I tried to say, and he cut me off.“Don’t apologize, I hate it when someone does that in a situation like this,” he responded, and I swallowed my words.“I don’t know what to say,” I responded.“You don’t have to,” he replied.“It’s the worst thing that I have ever heard happen to anyone. I know hearing sorry may hurt, but I want you to know that you don’t have to regret anything. The goddess always knew what she was doing,” I said to him, and I could see him lean back in his seat.“No, Ravana, the goddess mocked me. I remembe
Camilla's POVEver since the incident at the office, Revana returned the next day and apologized for her actions. I let her back because I wasn't done with her, and something told me she was up to something.I knew she was helpless, and this was probably the only job she had seen so far with good pay and benefits. I just knew I had to be careful, so I banned her from coming into my office and demoted her to a receptionist on my floor. That was the punishment I gave her for her actions the previous day.But in reality, I didn’t want her near me anymore, so she wouldn’t find something in my office to use against me, and I limited her interactions with other workers. She accepted her punishment without question, which left me wondering.Did she know who I was? Was this all an act to get me into a situation I couldn’t predict? What was her reaction behind her coming back here? I was alert and conscious. When I broke the news to Erica, she was far from shocked and she congratulated me. On t
Camilla’s POVThe day of the feast arrived, and I stood before the mirror in my room. I wore a red gown that hugged my figure, exposing every curve of my body. A diamond necklace shimmered around my neck, a gift from my father on my last birthday. The makeup artist and hair stylist worked on transforming me into an elegant lady, and I couldn't help but smile back at my reflection as I admired myself.Just then, Marcel burst into the room, his high spirits evident as his laughter echoed off the walls of my room. My father was coming for the ball, and we had no choice but to bring him along.“Careful, Marcel,” I called out, trying to contain my amusement. I could see how happy he was.“You don’t want to hurt yourself, and that would mean no feast for you tonight,” I added, and he froze where he stood, wearing a little suit paired with a red tie.He walked towards me and looked up at me. “Sorry, mother,” he apologized, and I giggled because I could see how excited he was to go to the feas
Camilla’s POVThere he stood in all his glory, the man I have loved and hated for years. He wore a suit that hugged his frame and I could see what five years have done to him. His hair was longer to the point of his shoulders and his face was that of a man now, the muscles on his body were bigger than the last time I saw him and he stood taller. He was just a boy when we split up, now he is a man. I was scared he would recognize me right away, but I was also worried about what he would do.Would he kill me? Ignore me? Or talk to me like a normal person? I didn't just wait to find out, I also didn't want him near me. As he swept through the crowd, the crowd parted for him without him asking. Soon he stopped and spoke with an older Alpha.“Oh my God, he grows hotter every session,” one of the girls said and I rolled my eyes. I looked back to Leo who stood tall talking to another Alpha, but his eyes were staring at something and when I followed his line of sight, it fell on Enzo.He wasn
The next time I woke up, it was morning.Blinking away the remnants of sleep, my gaze settled on Marcel. Who was peacefully sleeping on the bed besides me. A small smile spread on my lip as I reached out to brush a stray strand of hair away from his face. The event of yesterday hit me, which confirms my suspicion that My son was alive. And I couldn’t wait to see him and hold him in my arms again. As I lie there, lost in thought the door creaks open, and Matt came into the room. He held a tray of food in his hands, His warm smile is a comforting sight as he greets me.“Hi kiddo!, you were knocked out for a long time” he said.“We’re back home, in the park.” I said as I looked around my room.“We had no choice, you were unconscious and i needed to bring you home to rest to process the news” Matt responded and sigh.“He really is alive father, all these years I mourned for the death of the child that was alive” i cried out as my father dropped the food on the bed stand as he comfort me.
