Chapter 7 World-Renowned Lawyer

"I'm too young to see this." Lucas covered both of his eyes once again. If it weren't for the fact that the man had helped his mother earlier, he would have rushed up the stage in front of those reporters and given him hell.

"That's Scarlett Langston, a world-renowned lawyer." A reporter in the audience suddenly pointed out Scarlett's identity.

"Mr. Leonard, did you say that she's your exclusive model? Then, judging by how you've kissed Miss Langston and even made her wear this dress, is there something going on between you two?"

"Are you two together?"

"Miss Langston came straight here the moment she landed in Catheden. Since she's your special guest, why didn't you send a car to pick her up?" One after another, the reporters started asking questions that were on point.

Jonathan stared at the woman beside him, listening to the reporters' questions. For a moment, the whole situation baffled him.

Scarlett Langston, the famous lawyer in Amerstica, was actually from Catheden. Jonathan had heard of this, but not in detail. Because so far, there was nothing Jonathan couldn't solve, and he didn't need any legal advice. So, he didn't have to know who that lawyer was.

That woman was so young, yet she still appeared in his fashion show. What was Fredrick doing?

"My apologies. Today's fashion show had come to an end. If you still have any questions, Leonard Corporations will hold a press conference later on." Frederick felt guilty, so he quickly climbed onto the stage and smoothed things over with the reporters. If there was even a single slip in the company's stock prices tomorrow, Jonathan would definitely hold Fredrick responsible.

"Lucas…" Jonathan dragged Scarlett away from the stage, but she was reluctant to follow him as she kept worrying about her son.

The fashion show was in chaos, and soon, Lucas was gone from her sight. Concerned about his company's image, Jonathan picked up the struggling Scarlett and left.

"Let me go…"

Jonathan carried Scarlett on his shoulders like a sack of potatoes. It wasn't until they had left the reporter's line of sight that he put her down. As soon as Scarlett's feet hit the ground, she wanted to go back in and look for Lucas. Unfortunately, Jonathan stretched out his hand and blocked the elevator door. The elevator closed slowly and gradually went up to the 38th floor.

"Let me go. I have something to do, something important." Scarlett strained to push the elevator buttons like a mad woman, but it was too late.

"Who are you? Who ordered you to cause trouble at my fashion show?" Jonathan flanked Scarlett on both sides with his hands, staring at her so intensely that she couldn't move.

"I didn't do anything. They were the ones who made me go up there…" She tried to flee, but pain flared in her sprained ankle.

She was a famous lawyer. Many people tried and failed to hire her for their firms. She was worth at least millions, so she had no reason to mess up his fashion show.

"I'm in a hurry. Let me go." She looked at the man almost pleadingly while enduring the sharp pain in her ankle. When she looked at his face again, her heart throbbed relentlessly. He had an intelligent and wickedly charming face, which somehow resembled her son no matter how much she looked.

She instinctively turned her face away, but her eyes accidentally caught the notice above the elevator. "Please be reminded that the maximum capacity for Leonard Corporations' elevator is 15 people. Please ensure your safety."

Leonard Corporations! Was Jonathan the man she had kidnapped six years ago?
