Chapter 8 Liberties Taken

Such a coincidence couldn't be possible, could it?

"Oh, God, please don't let him remember me. Please."

As she lifted her skirt, her high heels caught the hem and tore the skirt in two, causing the orange diamonds to fall to the ground with a clink. She regretfully stared at the scattered diamonds and the dress she had ruined.

Jonathan didn't say anything, and this frightened her more than if he did. His cold demeanor was like a sword piercing through her chest, and the air between them was filled with a sense of danger.

“I…I didn't mean to...” She could pay damages. She knew this dress was one of a kind, but she was willing to compensate.

“A special employee,” he suddenly said. She only gulped and didn't dare to answer him.

“An exclusive model and a world-renowned lawyer,” he added immediately after, citing two more of her supposed identities. “Who on earth are you?”

“You…You got the wrong person. I'm not…” Oh, no, this man wasn't dumb at all. It had been six years, and even under such dim lights that night, he could still remember her.

“Did I say I know you?” She blew her own cover right in front of him.

Jonathan suddenly gripped her chin tightly, making her look into his eyes. Her youthful face was exactly as he remembered, and she had grown more mature and feminine. He definitely believed that she was the woman from six years ago.

His hand gripped her chin so hard that her beautiful face strained from it. To prove who she was, Jonathan did something unexpected. He suddenly kissed her lips, and his large hands drew them closer together. He held the back of her head firmly as he suckled her lips.

“Oh…” She resisted instinctively, hitting the man's body. But her resistance was met with even more aggression. His tongue forcefully pried open her lips and slid into her mouth, tasting the flavor within.

The kiss felt slightly sweet, moist, and silky, and he felt his heart race. She was the most unique and unforgettable among the women he had slept with.

Scarlett couldn't control her heart, let alone resist his frenzied kiss. The hand that was hitting his body earlier had unconsciously wrapped around him in a hug. And as she watched his affectionate actions, her eyes gradually closed, basking in the almost suffocating kiss. She knew how to reciprocate but didn't know how to take the lead, just like she had been six years ago. Her tenderness and immaturity were exactly the same as before. He would always be the man by her side.

That damned woman actually had the audacity to kidnap and abandon him like he was just a gigolo after she had done the deed. She must have had a death wish to show up six years later.

“Did you enjoy that, you shameless wench?”

Scarlett's face flushed from both shame and anger when she heard him chide her. She had indeed been enjoying the kiss. She looked up at the man, who was a head taller than her, and retaliated by doing something that shocked even Jonathan.

She held his face in both hands and sealed his lips with her warm ones. Right after, she heard him scream as blood dribbled from the corners of their mouths.

Coincidentally, the elevator finally arrived at the 38th floor with a ding.

“This is what happens when a man like you takes liberties with a woman.” Scarlett quickly stepped out of the elevator, holding the skirt.

“You can leave if you want. You just have to give me back the wedding dress.”

Jonathan stood at the door of the elevator. In his suit, his height and bearing alone nearly took her breath away.
