Chapter Four

Mandy got so angry that she slapped Amanda. " Amanda, how dare you speak to me in such manner? What gave you the right to insult me? Listen to me young lady, you must marry Louis. I will kill you if you refuse or if your father gets to know about the things happening in this house. Louis is the best man you can get married to. Well, Tricia will not marry Louis for a reason best known to me."

Amanda clapped her hands together and gave a mockery laugh, "Mother, the last time I checked, you have never given Tricia anything bad. You have always given her the best of everything and since Louis is the best why are you finding it difficult to let Tricia marry him. Mother, you think I am really scared of your threat. Well, I am not scared because I have informed some people about the threat you have been giving me. Mother, let anything happen to me  or even a scratch on my body, you will know that I have people out there who will fight to the end to give me Justice. Well, do not forget that I left this house some hours ago and many know about the threat and other things happening in this house. I really love you mother but don't allow me to throw the love I have for you to the trash. Just have it in mind that some reasonable people are watching you."

Mandy became scared though she didn't want Amanda to know how scared she was then  she thought in her mind  " what really came over this lady . She wants to destroy me. I thought I can easily control her and force her to marry Louis. If my husband gets to know about this then I am finished." She looked at Amanda and said " You are trying to be tough but I know how weak you are. You are under my care and you must obey me." Amanda laughed and said "Did  I hear you say that I am under your care, mother? When last did you stop caring for me?  You stopped caring for me after giving birth to Tricia. At a tender age you made me do different house chores for adults. You beat me whenever I made a mistake. I am still in this house because my father pleaded with me not to move out yet. I can have my own house because I have a good job but I do not want to disobey father I really have to inform father how important it is to leave this house. Mother, thanks for letting me know the type of mother you are. I shall marry the man I love. I can never sacrifice my happiness by marrying a bad guy and someone I do not love just to please you. My happiness comes first." Amanda concluded and walked out.

While in her room, she sat on the floor with her back on the door, she cried bitterly but silently. She had never spoken to her mother the way she did today. She wiped her tears away and went to have her bath. While bathing she recalled everything her mother Mandy said to her but she was happy that she gave her a piece of her mind.
