I'm Ready

Chapter 1: I am ready.

.*.*.*Amelia's POV*.*.*.

The thunder clapped and the rain began to fall heavily. I stared at the dark sky excitingly then smirked. "Time to go hunt some hiding deer." My tongue ran over my lips slowly as I stared the once dry trees getting wet.

Ready to hunt, my lady?

Elias's voice came up in my head and I nodded.

Of course, dummy. Let's meet at under the Ameias tree. I replied almost immediately while I strip off my shirt. I closed my eyes momentarily, escaping into the euphoria of my mind where I saw Ana, my wolf standing happily and before I knew it, she took over and the once felt euphoria turned into a brief agony. Yes, brief because it left just the way it came.

My paws threaded on the muddy ground in a fast motion as I aim at getting to the tree before Elias but as always, he got there before me. Cheat! Ana growled, as she jumped on the familiar big brown wolf, Max. Elias and I both laughed internally as our Wolves kept clawing and jawing at eachother. Says more about friends being born in the same year but twenty days apart.

Ana laid down after some second, her body snuggling into Elias's warmth. Are you really ready to take over the throne, Amelia? Elias's worried voice interrupted my thoughts and Ana nuzzled him carefully making Max purr cutely.

I think I am, Elias. But I'm scared.

It's okay to be scared, Amelia but you have the Alpha blood running throught you, fear is the last on your list. You're strong and fierce, beautiful too and I know you'll make a great Luna but can't you wait till you're twenty, after meeting your mate before accepting the crown? I wish I could wait till I'm twenty, I wished I could meet my mate before accepting the crown, I really wish I could but Dad has lived a thousand years on that throne which means his reign was over but he wanted me to clock eighteen and now that I am eighteen, I need to take this as my responsibility.

My mate will definitely understand when we meet, Elias. And I'm sure he wouldn't want me to cower away from my responsibility. I answered, as Ana got on her four paws and stretched. Time to go hunting, worry cat. She growled at Max who growled back.

I'm not a cat, Ana. He growled softly and Ana nuzzled him again before they both head into the think forest with Elias and I being thier vision.

Elias and I ended our hunt at dawn and we head to the pack house half naked with two deers on each of our shoulders. As we got to the main road which led to the pack house we saw the warriors jogging off to the training ground not without bowing to me and Elias though, but even with that, I could feel anger emitting Elias's body which got me worried.

"Eli, are you okay? I can suddenly feel your anger." Worry dripped off my voice as I glance at Elias who looked as if he was caught stealing candy which got me more worried. "What in the world is going through your mind, man. Youl look like a confused monkey." I laughed as he bit his lips in embarrassment.

"It's nothing." He muttered, as he increased his pace and walked ahead of me. I frowned.

"Something is wrong with you, old me. The me." I called after him with laugh and he stopped for a split second before walking ahead again.

"I'm just 20days older than you, Lia. I'm not old." I laughed at that but followed behind gently.

"What ever you say, oldie."

"Welcome home, my lady." The maid servants rushed out to carry the deers which I dropped happily only to raise my head and see Elias ahead. I wanted to call out for him but someone beat me to it. I felt my fingers twitch as I watched Rina tangled her hand with Elias. "My lady, the Luna summons you." Came one of the maids voice and I nodded then turned sharply towards my parents office.

I walked into the familiar office with a tired look. "morning mother, morning father." I yawned loudly, as I made myself comfortable on the couch while I stared at my parent who were seated calmly behind the large wooden table. "You guys know your stares send chills down my spin in times right this, right?" I pointed out while laying comfortable with my ankles crossed over eachother and my face turned towards the brown roof.

"I'm sorry, my child." Mom spoke first and I hum. "You must be so tired from hunting in the rain." She stated but it sounded more like a question so I nodded.

"How do you feel now, dad?" I asked in an active voice but I know they heard perfectly.

"I wasn't sick before, Ame—"

"Then why can't you wait till I'm twenty before I take over?" I growled, my voice raising higher than usual which made me cover my mouth on instinct immediately. "I'm sorry, dad. I didn't mean it to sound like that." I apologized but got a roll of laughter in return, I frowned

Did I sound funny?

"You didn't sound funny, my love." Of course, I said it out loud. "You're mature enough to be a Luna... See, you just raised your voice at me." Even though I tried to counter his words, I just couldn't. It was true, talks more about the unusual feeling I have whenever I see Elias with Tina or how energetic I get anytime I go to the training ground. And the lately anger issues.

"What if my mate is also an Alpha? How would we run the pack?"

"You will know how to when the time comes, Amelia. Right now, you just have to be ready to take responsibility of everything that happens to your pack from now on." My father's voice replayed in my head and I sighed deeply.

Ana, are you ready for this too?

I'm ready anytime you are, Amelia.

"Amelia? Are you ready?" Mom asked as I sat up and stared at the two beings who brought me to life the sighed.

"I am ready."
