MY DUTY

Chapter 5: My duty

Eighteen years later

*.*.*Rihanna's POV*.*.*.

"It's our last morning in school, Anna. How do you feel?" Jake, my training partner asked from the other end of the room and I shrugged.

"I feel satisfied." I answered simply while I dropped my gun on the table and pick up a small dagger. "I feel like I can take down ten men within twenty minutes." I smiled and he choked on his coffee.

"Oh no, Anna. You take down ten men in five minutes." He shook his head in disbelief and I laughed.

"Well, I feel stronger." I added a 9mm into my bag before zipping it up. "Bye man, see you in six months." I pat his shoulders and I walked out of the armory.

"Remember to call me when you get home!" He called over and I gave a thumbs up before making my way into barracks. Picking up my phone, I walked out only to meet Ayesha at the entrance. She glared at me and I smirked.

"Have a nice holiday, Ayesha." I waved and she turned away. Ayesha isn't a friend not is she an enemy, we just don't fancy eachother. I continued my wall to the bus but got stopped by Kira, my best training buddy.

"What's up Kira?"

"Nothing... Just want to remind you that you should call when you get home. We won't be taking the same bus." She said, her Italia accent dripping off and I frowned.

"Wait, what do you and Jake have with me cling you when I get home? Why are you guys monitoring me?" I asked and she chuckled.

"Jake and I aren't monitoring you, Anna. We're just caring for you."

"um, you quite know I'm not a baby, right?" I asked and she nodded.

"Yeah, I know but we want to be sure no one gets on your anger before you get home." She said and I groaned.

Well, ever since I clocked eighteen I've been developing this anger issues, especially when I'm not at fault or the person isn't taking to my words or advice.

"It's okay guys. I'll keep my anger at bay." I assured her and she smiled. We departed at the sound of the whistle.

"I serve the people of the States, and live the Army Values. I will always place the mission first. I will never accept defeat. I will never quit. Facta non-vervbs! (deeds not words!)" We sang as we the bus went down the hill of the forest.

My training ended today and now, I was going back to the States with with my fellow soldiers. I can't wait to see my family again, I was sure Daniel would be taller than me now.

"Hey, Anna! It's your stop." Captain Morgan called and I smiled.

"Yes Captain! Bye guys." I bowed shortly before climbing down the bus. Looking ahead, I stared at the developed street. "The government are really doing well with this streets." I smiled as I walked down the familiar paths. It was wierd how I could actually remember this path after being gone for fifteen years.

It's probably my soldier instinct. My subconscious said and I smiled. I stopped at the familiar brown porch then rang the bell twice. It took whoever was behind the door 7seconds before getting to the door and when he opened it, he turned out to be my younger brother; Daniel.

"Oh my goodness! Anna?!" He yelled and pulled me into his embrace and like my expectations, my sixteen years old brother was already taller than me. "Mom! Anna is back from school!" He called and I smiled.

"Anna?" My smile turned into a grin at the monotonous voice of my mom

"Yes mum... It's your cupcake." I smiled as I walked to her while Daniel carried my bag in. "You didn't tell me you were coming when I called you earlier." she pointed.

"Surprise!" I laughed as she hugged me. "Dad's at work?" I asked as I settled down on the couch with her.

"You dad and work always" she answered and I nodded. "Okay, go change up and come for food." I nodded and stood up.

"It's so good to be back home." I yawned and made my way into my room only to see Daniel PES and junks all over. "Daniel!" I yelled and he peeped out from my bathroom.

"Your room is the coolest, Rihanna... Just just my room, I switch it all up before midnight." He promised and I groaned.

"Urgh!" I groaned but it came out like a growl

"Sis, did you just growl?" Daniel asked and I frowned.

"Growl? Do humans growl? It probably sounded like that because I'm tired." I shrugged and made my way out and I to his tidied room. I stared at the prince bed to the clean tables and fine walls. "Do you even use this room at all?" I yelled over my shoulder.

"No, sis. Your room is the best!" He yelled back and I smiled.

"Big head."

"I heard that sis." He called back and I laughed.
