PROMISE ME!

Chapter 2: Promise me

.*.*.*Amelia's POV*.*.*.

I walked down the dark path of Green wood's Pack; my future pack, with a smile. My coronation date has been chosen to be on the last full moon of the fourth month which will be two weeks to come.

What if mate is not doesn't want an Alpha? Ana's question bothered me and I stopped walking. ,"Mate will love us, Ana. No 'what if'" I assured her and continued my scout only to stop at the path which leads to the Ameias tree.

I could remember Elias and I running through this woods ten years ago and decided to make this tree our meeting mark, we even gave it out initials —Ameias— and decided to make it a place where we let out our frustration.

"You've been standing there for minutes, Lia." I blinked twice at the voice then smiled. Feet's ahead me stood Elias in all six feet glory only in his jean shorts and white tank top.

"Not my fault. I was trying to remember how you tried to climb Ameias tree up only to fall and break your elbow's bone." I laughed.

"I healed immediately, Lia. Can't you just forget that happened? It's embarrassing." He whined, as I laughed.

"It's quite funny, Eli." I smiled, a smile which he returned with on of his charming ones.

"Should I come and carry you, Lia? Come on... Let's go share thoughts under the tress." He urged and I nodded the made way towards him. Elias waited till I got to him only for him to entangle our fingers and urge me forwar but I felt it again. I felt that unusual feeling again.

Why am I the only one feeling this? I asked myself frustratingly but let out a heavy sigh.

"Easy there, my Lady. Worry less now for I am here... Your knight in shining armour."

"But you're only in a white tank top and jean short, Mr. Knight." I pointed out and he laughed, we both laughed as we made ourselves comfortable on the wet grasses under our tree.

Elias and I both sat in comfortable silence for a hour, just attending to the voices in our head with our fingers still entangled.

"Elias?"

"Yes, Lia?" He asnwered almost immediately, as if he has been waiting for me to talk.

"How will feel if you wake up tomorrow and I'm gone?" I asked, as we held each other's gaze. His once calm features morphed in a frown which made him look... Cute?

"Are you planning on escaping without taking me along, Amelia? Don't be selfish." He whined with a pout and I smiled.

"I'm being serious."

"We've been together since we were born, Lia. Just imagine how saddened my heart would be if I don't get to see you in a day talk more of you leaving without traces." His voice dripped off emotions that I couldn't decipher but in all I knew Elias was one person I also couldn't do without. "Are you leaving?"

"No, I'm not. I don't even know why I asked that question." I answered sincerely and he cupped my cheeks.

"Don't even think of leaving without taking me along, my lady." He said firmly and I nodded. For a brief moment I felt him lean closer a f I though he was going to kiss me but instead, he pecked my forehead.

"I can't keep it any longer, Amelia. I can't—" I frowned as I felt his shaky breath against my face.

"You can't keep what?" I asked, worry written all over my face as I stared at my best friend. "Tell me, Eli. We don't keep things from eachother, remember?" I urged him but him only smiled out and let go off my face.

"I can't keep this overprotective feeling I have anything I see those Pack warriors eye you or touch you. It's nothing actually, I'll get over it with time." My worried features dropped into a disappointed one at his confession.

"Holy angels! You scared me." I breathe out in relief and he chuckled, not without muttering a 'sorry' though. "It's okay. I also feel like that too anytime I see you with Tina... I know she's just your training partner but I really feel uneasy anytime I see you both together." I confessed too and for some unknown reason, I felt at ease after saying that.

"Jealousy?"

"Yes." My mouth spilled before my brain could think. My cheeks burned up in embarrassment and he laughed.

"It's okay to be jealous. I'm also jealous of those warriors you train with too." He confessed sheepishly and I smiled then snuggled closer into his warm embrace. "I really don't think I can live without you." He added in a mutter but I heard him clear enough.

"Me too. But I think it'll all die down when we both meet our mates." A long comfortable silence followed my words and I sighed.

"Let's make a promise to eachother, Amelia." I raised my head up at that with a frown.

"What promise?"

"Promise me that no matter what happens, you'll never forget me." He raised his pinky finger and I chuckled.

"You think a situation can make me forget you?"

"Promise me, Lia. Promise to never forget me no matter what happens in the future." He stated again and I sighed then raised my pinky finger too.

"I promise to never ever forget you, Mr. Elias Arteta no matter what happens in the present or the future." And we crossed our pinkies together. He pulled me closer into his warmth and kissed my hair.

I was about to doze off when he jerked up, waking me up. "What happened."

"The Alpha wants you in your room in twenty minutes, my lady." He said and I shook my head in disbelief.

"Can you just stop being scared of my dad, I'm sure he said it calmly." I mumbled as I got up to my feet and dusted off my denim short before turning to Elias who was also relating my earlier action.

"He used the Alpha tone on me, Lia. That didn't sound calm." He pointed out and I nodded.

"Oh, sorry."
