Chapter Thirty-Two

Kendra followed her aunt out of the containment building.  Filling her lungs with the crisp night air, she reveled in the feeling of freedom.   Being a bound captive of Alice and her alien friends for even that brief time had made a negative impact on her that brought forth the other bad memories of being badly used that she struggled to keep buried and would one day have to find a way to release.

She’d stayed behind with her aunt after the others left to monitor the progress of the alien’s turning.  It took several hours before they were beyond the intelligent zombie stage and beginning to rot.  Since it took months for a human, Olga was pleased.  By the time they left, the three alien zombies were lying on the floor, immobilized.  She expected them to expire by morning.
