Chapter Thirty-Eight

Olga sat in the corner of the room in a deep trance state while Rex carefully lowered his wife into the ice bath that the lovebirds had prepared.  Even with the stress and concern over Kendra’s condition, he was able to find a bit of joy in the news that Felix and Oriana were to be married.  He wanted nothing more than for his family to be happy and whole. 

By marrying Oriana, Felix was burying the intense sadness and guilt that had ridden on his shoulders since Ari’s death.  He didn’t believe that Felix was responsible for the poor young woman’s death and he hated to see the man punish himself with such grief.  His marriage would change all of that.  In turn, it would change the dynamics of the family in a good way.  Since Oriana and Kendra didn’t have the negative history that Kendra and Ari had, the family was already in a better place with this match.
