Chapter 4

The Free Tickets

Despite Ellen, Nathan, and Rodney's disappearance from the mating event, everything still goes according to plan as it should be. The feast continued and was led by Vladimir and some of the older wolves to bless the newly mated wolves.

Rodney, whose anger and hatred towards Nathan never ease no matter how hard he tried. Every time he could think of Ellen, Nathan's face always popped up in his mind. And he could barely tolerate such kind of restlessness when he can do and have everything, if not in a clean way, a dirty one will be applicable.

And Rodney is willing to bend a few of the wolf's rules to get what he wanted... Nathan's quick and soft death, erased him from the picture of the world so Ellen could end up being his mate.

Never in his life did he feels to be a loser, not getting what he wanted as he always does. To get what he wanted, he dug and gathered some information about Nathan, planning to use them against him and to remove him from the pack so he could ruin his life without dragging the Crescent Moon Pack.

He called a few of his contacts and even paid a huge amount of money just to get those pieces of information he needed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Ellen has kept on tailing off Nathan, heading to uncertainty. Even if he already knew he was not a member of the Crescent Moon Pack, not from the world he was present in, and worst of all, not knowing who his real parents were, he still planned to visit their house to mourn for his mum's death.

Nevertheless, he could have his mourning from a distance, considering his dad forbid him to come over, or else it will be refreshed in his memories that his dad blamed him for his mum's death.

But the one thing that made his mind restless was those wolves who attacked his family in the house. He could barely recognize any of them. He barely even knows the reason for killing them. The only thing he got from them was their wolf's scents.

"Ellen, what are you doing?" Nathan asked.

"Wasn't I obvious? I'm following you wherever you go? You're my mate now, Nathan. And I have to support you with your endeavors." Ellen said back. She surprisingly gripped his shoulder.

"Aren't we just pretending to be mates in front of everyone, most of all, in front of Rodney? This is the agreement, right?" Nathan made it clear. "But if no one is watching us, we can act normal like we used to."

There was part of Ellen that felt embarrassed by how upfront Nathan is to her. For that same reason, she asked herself about the reason she followed him all the way to their house considering Rodney did not follow them.

"Nah. I have nothing to do tonight. Staying in my room will only bore me. Don't worry, Nathan. I'm not gonna interrupt whatever you want to do." And that was a fucking lie. Ellen knows visiting his house will not do good for Nathan. His mum died and his father chased him out of their own house. She needs him. He just can't say it upfront.

As soon as Nathan appeared ten meters away from their house, he immediately glued his feet to make sure his dad or Noah could barely sense his presence. Besides, there were a few people and wolves were mourning in her casket.

"Aren't you going to see your mum for the last time?" Ellen curiously asked to alter Nathan's attention. His immediate silence has made her anxious. And she's not used to sad moments like mourning someone's death.

Talking to him was the least she thinks she could do to make sure they were still on the same page. Even if she hasn't experienced such kind of catastrophic event in her life, she felt and understands how Nathan has felt at the moment.

She sensed it. It's all over the air.

"I badly wanted to. But getting closer to any of them will only worsen my situation. On the bright side, I can still sense her from afar." Nathan coldly explained.

"But, it's already late. Do you have any other place to stay? I mean... You said it yourself that getting closer to them will only worsen the problem." Ellen insisted. She predicted that in a few minutes, accompanying each other is about to end.

Ellen wanted to make sure Nathan will do the right thing before they separated ways. When she checked out her watch, the time was fifteen more minutes before midnight.

"Don't worry about me, Ellen. Worry yourself. Don't forget you are still wearing my coat." Nathan said back before staring at her from head to toe which made her realize she was indeed still naked. If not because of Nathan's coat, she will be utterly naked.

Though Nathan was simply teasing her, it was inevitable that Ellen's entire face blushed like a ripened tomato.

"So, I guess see you tomorrow at school then?" Ellen smiled shortly. She tossed the coat back to Nathan and shifted into a werewolf.

Afterward, she rushed away and went back to her place. Nathan, on the other hand, stayed for a few minutes in front of the house, behind his dad's and Noah's knowledge.

The next morning, Ellen waited for Nathan to appear in their class. Everyone was busy talking about what happened in the mating event, excluding her. Rodney was also not around as he was busy with his evil plan to erase Nathan out of the picture.

"Congratulations, Ellen! You won free tickets good for two this coming weekend in La Islas Bonetas." One of their professors eagerly announced. Everyone who has heard the announcement clapped their hands with envy.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Professor. But I didn't remember joining any contest or raffles to win these tickets." Ellen returned the tickets to their professor.

Before their professor explained everything, Ellen tried to guess where the tickets came from. However, the only thing she could think of was her best of luck. All the best news that happened in her life was simply because she believe in her luck. Nothing more, nothing less that could explain it.

Their professor then explained to her how she got the free tickets. She explained that the tickets come from Vladimir which was supposed to be his gift for her and Rodney. But because she has chosen Nathan over Rodney, she asked Ellen where was her mate.

What worried Ellen the most was when Nathan did not appear at school even for their last subject class. So, she exited earlier to go back to his parents' house because her instinct was telling her Nathan might not sleep somewhere rather than in his place.

"Ellen, where's your mate? Nathan, right?" One of her classmates asked before she could hop into the car. "Such an idiot decision. You should have chosen Rodney over him." She even made a ticking sound in her mouth.

"I'm so sorry to say this, Ellen. You're a smart wolf. But you did not use your brain in choosing your mate. Well, the mating event was already done. Good luck with your life with that metallic loser wolf." her mate even made it clear.

Luckily, Ellen simply ignored them and rushed away from the parking lot. A few minutes later, she hopped out of the car in front of Nathan's parents' house. She then enhanced her werewolf senses to check if Nathan was around.

Unluckily, she could barely trace Nathan's presence in the house as expected. But there were humans and wolves roaming around. So, she asked one of them, "excuse me? May I know who is Mr. Frost?"
