Nathan was standing near his window when his mother sauntered into the room and he could feel the scent of another cologne that didn’t belong to anyone he knew.“Mum” he called out and the lady walked up to him and enveloped him in a bear hug.Audrey was still standing dumbfounded at the outcome of her reality. “Audrey, please. No one has to know, just for a few weeks or even a month” Mrs Hernandez cajoled, “I will feel better with you here. His attitude made Audrey to feel more guilty.the fact that she was deceiving a blind man didn’t go well with her but what could she do? She was already neck deep into the lies and deception, backing down was going to ruin him more than necessary.“Baby” Nathan called out to her again and she jolted out of her reverie of thoughts.“Why? What happened?”Once again she was lost in the ocean of his blue eyes, the fact that he was blind made it hard for her to admire its beauty and coupled with his natural handsome face, Nathan was like someone straight out of a painting. The door pushed open and Audrey entered with a cup of black coffee sitting beautifully on a tray while the forced smile on her lips continued to linger.Nathan who was standing by his window as usual turned his attention to the Sound of the door opening.“Vanessa?” He called while his lips curled into a bright smile.Audrey gulped as she set the tray on the table, the name Vanessa made her to cringe in a guilty way.“Did you bring coffee for me?” He asked again and she nodded, forgetting for a moment that he couldn’t see her gestures then it immediately dawned on her,“Yes, I brought your favorite coffee”“Hmmm” he nodded but didn’t move from the window, he seem to be enjoying the cool breeze of the vast green thst surrounded him.“Here” Audrey handed him a cup which he collected with ease and the lady was mesmerized. Dressed in a pair of red gown that reached her knees with a limited edition label bag of Avanti, Mrs Hernandez sauntered into the company and everyone was running helter skelter to welcome her to the company.After the president suddenly left a year ago because he had a course to study out of the country for a while, his mother became the chairwoman of the company and she handled everything well, much more rigid than her son.No one in the company knew that Nathan lost his eyesight except his assistant and it was meant to be that way. He didn’t want anyone thinking they would be able to throw him out of the market because he was unable to use his eyes.“Good morning, ma’am” Bruno rushed up to her but she shoved her bag into his arms and made straight for the conference room.Nathan had called and explained what he wanted her to do and now she was here to do it, how dare those people try to boss her son around? Bruno hastily sauntered into the conference room again and whispered something into Mrs Hernandez’s ears which made her nod before turning to the men in front of her.“The president will video call us in a while, please be patient”“Of course, ma’am” Mr Hillstone answered and she turned her attention to Bruno again.“Let’s have a talk outside, Bruno”“Yes, ma’am”By the time they were in Nathan’s personal office, her mind was already going haywire.What the heck was Nathan thinking? It was going to be a disaster if anyone ever found out about his condition.“Why didn’t you try and convince him not to do this?”Bruno was quiet for a while, he was also scared. He didn’t want his boss to be found out either but Nathan has always been someone who acted on his own.
