CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Nysaa nibbled on a piece of bacon, her head still throbbing as she wrestled with the embarrassment of her drunken escapade. She couldn't shake the guilt and regret, especially when the thought of her lost job at the community center crept into her hazy mind. Dr. Ruiz, ever observant, noticed the unease in her eyes as she watched Nysaa.

As Nysaa glanced up and locked eyes with her therapist, Dr. Ruiz tilted her head slightly, concern etched in her features.

"Nysaa, something's bothering you. I can see it. You can talk to me."

Nysaa's shoulders slumped, and her voice was heavy with regret.

"I lost my job, Dr. Ruiz," she admitted.

"I went out last night because I couldn't handle the thought of it. The stress just got to me."

Dr. Ruiz's expression softened, and she reached out to gently place her hand over Nysaa's.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Nysaa. It must have been a tough blow. We'll work through this together."
